I could feel Silas' stare burning the side of my head but I didn't dare turn to him as my heart hammered against my ribcage. Everything within me was aware of his presence mere feet away from me and I barely heard Nora's compliments as she fussed over me.
I couldn't help but wonder why I had agreed to the stupid date in the first place when everything within me wanted to run back into my room, change into some comfortable clothes, and find a way to sneak the book back into the library and get another.
