The Trap

Hunter stares out the window of the black SUV. “Are you okay?” Thelson asks from the drivers seat. “Yes.” Hunter replied quickly “Then why did we have to leave so fast? I was seriously wanting to talk to-“ Thelson stopped talking when he met Hunters angry eyes The rest of the car ride was silent. Thelson didn’t dare ask any questions out of fear. Hunter continued to stare out of the window lost in thought. No matter how hard he tried he couldn’t push that moment out of his head. What happened? Was she actually a witch? No. She smelled human. She was beautiful, unnaturally beautiful for a human. Her scent was still lingering in the back of his brain driving him crazy. Finally the car comes to a stop at a huge gate. Thelson hits the buzzer box and speaks “The darkness consumes us all, in misery they all will fall” The gates open A long paved driveway leads up to a gorgeous dark mansion. Hunter gets out without a word. Once in the mansion Hunter gets a call from Damien. “Hey boss. I’ve got a trap set up now. I’m hoping the hunter takes the bait. We are down by the river behind the old factories.” “I’ll be there in twenty.” Hunter hangs up with a wicked grin Legacy stares at the pile of cash in her hand. After she picked herself up off the floor and returned to the VIP section the men were gone. Had Hunter believed her lie? If not why did he let her go? Why did he give her the money? If he was really afraid she would talk he would have killed her then. “Hey you!” Julia comes out of no where making Legacy jump. “Julia don’t do that!” “ That’s a fat stack sister! Don’t tell me that’s from one table!” Julia said with her jaw dropped Legacy checks her phone, it’s a little after midnight time for her to get off. She grabs up her bag and heads out without acknowledging Julia’s comment about the money. The uneasy feeling in her stomach made her sick. What did he do to her? Legacy started to remember how close he was, how it felt when he touched her. She looked at her wrist that was almost completely black where the bruising was. It definitely hurt so why did she enjoy it? Maybe a good nights hunt would make her feel better. She stopped in at her apartment and changed into her hunting suit. Tonight she made sure to grab the bodysuit with gloves to hide the huge bruise on her wrist. Luna was curled up in a ball asleep on the bed. Legacy was quiet and made her way out of the apartment. She began to head towards the old factory district where she caught most of her vampire kills. She enjoyed the abandoned factories and warehouses because she had more places to hide if she was ever chased or outnumbered. She rode in silence thinking about what had happened in the dressing room. Once she reached the abandoned factories she cut the car off and grabbed her stakes taking off walking on foot. Legacy walked the alleys for half an hour before seeing them. I know that voice! Legacy thought to herself. It’s that guy that was talking to Hunter back at the club. She peaked around the corner to see the tall boy ordering other vampires around as they were loading a yacht. Legacy watched for ten minutes. There were five vampires other than the guy she had recognized. She began to think of a plan to strike. She was so distracted and lost in thought she didn’t even hear anyone behind her. The next moment she was pulled back into the alley and slammed against the brick wall. The blow knocked the breath out of her completely. She opened her eyes to see it was Hunter pinning her against the wall.
