I couldn’t stop the grin forming on my face, as I see the person I missed the most standing in front of me. For a second I can’t believe my eyes but as soon as he opens his arms, there is no stopping me.
I race towards him, jumping over the man who almost killed me and into his strong arms.
“I missed you much Cass”, Evan says kissing my hair, I could feel a smile in his voice.
For the first time, I have left academia, I feel safe. Safe like I am at home. His warm embrace soothes me and relieves me out of all the worries of the world. I close my eyes and take in his scent. I still couldn’t believe he is here. My eyes are getting teary, so I blink them back before he notices anything.
