Chapter 6

Alexia’s POV 

Before we entered the school building Max put me down. I started to make gestures. He could clearly see I was pissed.

“Alex calm down okay. I had a reason for what I did.” Max said.

I just stood there with my arms crossed over my chest looking in his direction waiting for him to explain himself. But when he stayed quiet I started making gestures once again.

“Lets just head to class okay. The bell is about to ring.” Max said while dragging me along with him.

We entered our next class which was Chemistry. Max led me to my seat which was in the far end of the room. The teacher came up to us and we had the same talk with her like every other teacher I had. Soon the bell rang and students started to enter the classroom. Someone was about to sit next to me but Max shooed them away. Soon Bella sat next to me while giggling along with Sofia. Throughout the whole lesson I couldn’t concentrate except wonder who the person was that was about to sit next to me. 

Alexander

After Max dragged Alex into the school building we chased after them. I kept asking Sofia and Bella what happened but they didn’t answer me and kept walking away from me. As I was walking after them Taylor stepped in front of me.

“Where have you been? I've been looking all over for you. Want to come over later today? My parents won’t be home until next week. We can have all the fun we want.” Taylor said with a smile.

I just rolled my eyes and kept walking ignoring her. When I entered the Chemistry classroom I saw Max and Alex sitting together. I was walking towards them but when I reached the table Max was glaring at me and mouthed to me to find another seat. I didn’t understand why but soon I heard Sofia and Bella giggling as to what just happened. I was so confused as to why he was acting that way. I was about to ask him but Mr. Johnson told me to take a seat.

Soon Chemistry was over and I was dragged to the gym by Bella and Sofia. Max headed to his woodworking class. Once In the gym they dragged me to the locker rooms where the gym teacher’s office was located. When we entered I felt all eyes on us once again making me want to disappear. Sofia took us to the gym teacher’s office and she greeted us with a smile on her face.

“Today you both will just sit on the bleachers and pay attention to what the other students are doing in class.” Mrs. Davis said while we nodded in response.

When gym was over I had art next, unfortunately Max, Bella, nor Sofia did not have art with me. We all wondered how this happened if Sonia said she’d make sure one of them was with me. When I found out my lip began to tremble and my eyes burned as I tried to keep my tears in but Bella and Sofia were able to calm me down. They both walked me to my classroom and helped me find a place to sit and when I was settled they left to their own class before they would be late. Mrs. Lee soon walked over to me. 

“Hi Alex, I’m Mrs. Lee.” She said.

I just nodded.

“If you ever need anything don’t hesitate to bother me. When class starts I’ll help you around so we can get you started. I’ve heard from Sofia and Bella that you are quite a talented student.” I couldn’t help but blush from what she said. Soon the bell rang and students started to walk into class. Someone soon sat next to me but I didn’t bother knowing who it was. 

“Alex would you like to use paints, watercolors, pastels, charcoal, or just a pencil and paper for now.” Mrs. Lee whispered to me.

I held up four fingers to let her know I wanted to use charcoal as it was the fourth option. 

“Umm. So you want to use pastels?” I shook my head.

“Oh no okay what about charcoal?” I nodded my head 

I could hear her do a little clap as she seemed excited. I heard her move away from me and soon she was back with two pieces of paper, some charcoal pencils, an eraser, and a blending stick. I gave her a very small smile as a thank you.

“You're welcome. If you’d like you can listen to music as well. Now I’ll leave you so you can get started.” Mrs. Lee said as she walked away.

After Chemistry I headed to the gym into the boys locker room. Gym class was the same except I couldn’t help but sneak a couple glances towards Alex and Bella wondering why Max didn’t want me sitting with them during Chemistry. Once gym was over I started to head to my next class which was art but was stopped once again by Taylor. 

“Why have you been ignoring me?” Taylor asked in an annoying high pitched voice.

Taylor and I used to date for two years until she cheated on me with someone on the soccer team. It didn’t really bother me at all though. I never felt anything towards her. I just used her as a distraction from what was happening in my life. It was one of the biggest mistakes in my life. She doesn’t get the hint when I tell her every single time to f**k off. 

“I’ve told you many times I don’t need you nor want anything to do with you anymore. So just f*****g f**k off will you.” I practically shouted at her and now had the attention of people in the hall. How f*****g great is that. I stormed off to my next class.

I walked in right after the bell rang. I saw Alex talking with Mrs. Lee and I couldn't help but smile when I saw her. For some reason I found myself walking towards the empty seat next to her. I couldn’t help but notice when Mrs. Lee walked away and came back with supplies for her. I thought why didn’t she just get up and get them herself but then I realized she was new and didn’t know where things were.

After Mrs. Lee left me, I put my headphones on and played some music while I started to think of what to draw. At first I didn’t know what to draw. Then I thought of the place I wanted to visit the most. My mom’s hometown Seoul, Korea. I’ve visited a few times when I was younger to see my grandparents. At the thought of my mother I couldn’t help but shed a tear. I quickly wiped it away before anyone could notice it. I was so concentrated on drawing that I didn’t notice how fast time flew by until Mrs. Lee came up to me and taped me on the shoulder. As I took off my headphones I heard a gasp come from her lips.

“Alexia, that’s gorgeous. You really have something going for you. If you don’t mind me asking, where is this place?” Mrs. Lee asked.

I grabbed the other piece of paper she had given to me earlier and woke down my mom’s hometown.

“It seems like such a beautiful place.” I nodded.

“Well I guess it’s time for you to go now. Don’t worry about cleaning up. I’ll clean it up for you.” Mrs Lee said. 

I wrote down on the paper Thank you for everything. You’ve made my time in this class a whole lot easier. I looked in her direction and gave her a small smile as I handed her the paper. 

As soon as she was done reading it she caught me by surprise by hugging me. I went stiff until I gave into the hug and hugged her back.Once I let go Mrs. Lee walked, picked up the supplies I used and went to put them back. I went to reach for my bag but I couldn’t find it. 

“Looking for this” said a voice that sounded familiar.

I turned towards the voice and knitted my eyebrows together in confusion as to who it was.

“Come on your siblings and Sofia are waiting for you in the parking lot.” 

Now I was more confused than ever. 

“Come on let’s get going we don’t have all day do we.” 

That’s when I realized it was Alexander. I got up carefully and started walking but didn’t realize how close Alexander was until I ran into his chest. I started to walk backwards in order to get away from him but ended up crashing into one of the tables in the art room. I heard his footsteps as he was getting closer to me. He started getting closer to me until he was only inches away. 

“You know you have some of the most unique and gorgeous eyes I’ve ever seen.” Alexander softly said.

I faced down towards my shoes as I could feel the blood begin to rise to my cheeks. I felt his hand go under my chin and begin to lift my head up.

“Al…….What’s going on here?” Bella said as she walked into the classroom.

Alexander removed his hand from under my chin and turned to face Bella.

“Nothing she just had something in her eye.” Alexander responded back with a smirk. 

“Yeah right.” Bella murmured as she rolled her eyes.

“Come on Alex. Max and Sofia are waiting for us.” Bella said as she began to drag me out of the classroom.

When we walked up to Max and Sofia, Max came up right next to me and gave me a hug.

“Why is Alex a light shade of pink?” Sofia whispered to Bella.

“I'll explain when you come over later today.” Bella whispered back while Sofia nodded.

“How was art?” Max asked me.

I just put my thumbs up to tell him it went good.

“That’s good to hear. Come on we have to start heading home Logan said he has somewhere to be at 4:30 and needs a ride there.” Max said

I just nodded and he started to help me into the car while Bella got into the front seat.

“See you later today Sofia.” Max and Bella said before shutting the car doors.
