Alexia’s POV
Having an arm wrapped around your waist while half hanging off your bed is not what you typically expect to wake up to in the morning. Especially falling face first to the floor and hitting your head on the edge of your nightstand after realization sets in that it’s a boy next to you and not someone you’ve shared a bed with before. And if that wasn’t all having your overprotective brother come running in all worried about you but when he sees the boy in your bed he starts questioning the boy who you’ve come to know was Alexander while Sofia gets out of the same bed and helps you out.
“Who allowed you to be in here? Why are you in here? More specifically why are you in my sister's bed and that too at this time of hour?”
“If I recall Max I brought your sister up here after she fell asleep next to me outside while we were having the bonfire. And as you can tell I’m not the only one here Sofia is here as well.”
“You okay? Does your head hurt?” Sofia asked worriedly as she helped me sit on my bed.
I nodded and held onto my head with one hand. When I let go of my head to help support me more on the bed.
“Woah Gezezz Alex that looks like it's going to leave a bruise!,” Sofia said while reaching up and touching my head.
“What?” Max asked as I felt him getting closer to me as well as Alexander.
“Sit still and let me take a look at it,” Alexander told me as he came in front of me and put his warm calloused hands on my face as he moved it to have a better look. “It’s going to leave a pretty nasty bump.”
“I’ll go and get some ice before it gets worse,” Max said as he walked out and went to the kitchen.
“Sofi do me a favor and go to my room and get me the black box under my bed,” Alexander told Sofia while he kept looking at me.
“You have to be careful Angel,” Alexander said as Sofia walked out of the room “Does this hurt?” he asked as he touched me where the bruise was starting to form.
All I did was nod my head because it hurt but not a lot.
“Here Alex I couldn’t find any ice but I found frozen peas,” Max said and he handed the bag of peas “Hold it here for a while okay or it can get worse.”
“I have…I have the....I have the box,” Sofia said as she ran into the room.
“Did you really just run from here to your house and back?” Max asked with amusement lacing his voice.
“Of course I did dimshit. You expect me to walk and take my precious time when you would have done the same thing for Alex.” Sofia told my brother after she had caught her breath.
I think Alexander signaled for the box because I felt Sofia come closer and soon the sound of someone rummaging through something.
“Angel I’m going to put this on the bruise so it won’t get so bad okay,” Alexander told me as I felt him put something in front of me and start to reach towards the bump that was forming.
I just nodded because I couldn’t see what it was.
“Angel! Whaaaa-Angel! Why are you calling her Angel?” Max asked as he got closer and closer until I felt him behind Alexander.
“Max come on leave him alone he might have said it by accident,” Sofia said as she grabbed Max by the arm and was pulling him away.
“Bu...bu...but...fine hmph,” Max said while pouting as Sofia made him sit in my desk chair.
I couldn’t help but want to laugh at his reaction. I heard Sofia start to laugh and soon Alexander was laughing as well. When they had calmed down from their laughter my computer started ringing as a video call was coming through. From the song playing I knew it was Luca and I couldn’t help but smile. I tried getting up but a hand was stopping me.
“Sit and stay here you just hit your head. You might fall and hurt yourself again,” Alexander said.
I shook my head. I really wanted to talk with Luca because the last time I talked to him was last week. I tried getting up again but Alexander wouldn’t let me. I was getting really frustrated with him that I pushed him and he fell to the ground. I may or may have not used a bit of too much force or he was caught off guard not expecting me to do that. But either way I got up and walked towards my desk where my computer was without tripping or falling. Max had gotten up from my chair and helped me sit before he answered the call for me.
“Alex! Alex! Alex! Thank god you finally answered.” Luca shouted from the screen.
“Woah who is that,” Sofia said.
“Luca. Know Max and Zia over here since they moved to Washington,” Luca said as he pointed to Max and me "Who are you?"
“Hi nice to me..” Sofia was cut off as my bedroom door was closed hard making a loud bang.
“Woah who was that piece of hunk? Why does he look so hot when he’s mad though? Like s**t that was so f*****g hot. Like just imagine when he’s not mad too. f**k that was so f*****g hot!” Luca kept on going and going.
“Luca we get it you found him hot but can you calm yourself down a bit,” Max said.
“Of course I can now whoever else is there shoo shoo I have some serious s**t to talk about with Zia.”
“Fine. Come on Sofia let’s go.”
“But I want to stay and talk with him too.”
“Sorry hun no can do this some serious s**t between Zia and me. Next time okay,” Luca said.
“Okay but it better be soon,” Sofia said and she walked out with Max and the sound of the door closing followed.
Okay now tell me why you were screaming my name when I answered. I signed
“I f****d up. I f****d up. Like big big. Not even big, huge like huge huge!”
What did you f**k up?
“So you know how I’m gay right and my parents, Asher, Luke, Jake and you and your family know as well. Well somehow the news somehow never got to any of my other family even my cousins that went to school with us. And you know how every month my grandma has us do the weekend lunch and dinners at her estate by the lake and how she’s like really old fashioned. Well it was today and she was going on and on about how the gay were all going to hell and I had had enough of her talking and didn’t want to deal with it. So you know when I don’t want to deal with s**t when it comes to these family gatherings I just get up and leave. So I did just that but before I could leave the table my cousin sitting next to me grabbed my arm and asked where I was going. I was not thinking f*****g straight and you know what f*****g slipped through my gorgeous mouth. ‘Hell apparently’ Like Alex what have I done. I mean like I assumed they already knew but my grandma looked like the demon had entered her. Not gonna lie though I was f*****g terrified for a solid couple minutes but kinda proud that I’m gonna be able to tell people I came out to my family this was,” Luca said while laughing at the end.
I couldn’t help smile. At least all his family knows now.
“So now that I finished my ranting tell me who that piece of hunk was,” Luca said with a dreamy voice, “Wait. Wait! What is that on your forehead?” Luca’s voice filled with concern.
It’s just a bruise. I think it might turn into a bump from what they told me. Don’t worry about it. And just to let you know the guy was Alexander, my neighbor, Sofia’s brother and one of Max’s best friends here.
“Oh so you’re telling me when I go visit I’ll get to see the real life thing,” Luca said while wiggling his eyebrows.
I just shrugged. I was about to sign something to him when Knox appeared on the screen.
“Hiiii Alexx! I miss you! Where’s Olivia? Can I talk with her?” Knox asked excitedly.
I thought you said you missed me and you already want to get rid of me and talk with Olivia instead. You hurt me Knox. I signed as I placed a hand on my heart after.
“No Alex no I’m sorry it’s just I really miss her. I miss seeing her everyday,” Knox said.
I couldn’t help but aww in my head as I heard him say that. I was messing with you Knox. Luca do me a favor and text Max to bring Olivia into my room please.
“On it. Knox is going to see his love in a little bit,” Luca teased Knox.
“Stop it she’s not my love,” Knox said.
“Then why are you blushing Knox if she’s not your love.”
“Because...Because... it’s hot in here okay.”
“Knox it’s raining outside and the heater is broken. It's anything but hot.”
“Okay fine she’s my love but don’t tell her that she’ll run away when she knows she is.”
“Who will run away when she finds out what?” Olivia asked as she walked into my room.
“No one Olivia we were talking about the scary movie,” Knox said as he was still blushing a bit.
“Alex, can I talk with him alone please?” Olivia asked me.
“Can I talk with Olvia alone please Luca? I promise I’ll give you your phone back once I'm done,” Knox told Luca.
I nodded as I got up and waved goodbye to Luca and Knox.
“Bye Alex!” They both yelled.
When I walked out my room I made sure I left the door open before heading for the stairs. With a smile on my face I started walking down the stairs towards the kitchen. I walked into the walk-in pantry and felt the braille labels until I found the one with Oreos, rice crispy treats, and goldfish. I got one of each and turned around to walk out when I bumped into a wall dropping them. Wait I don’t remember a wall being here the exit should be here. I was brought back to the present as I felt arms wrapped around my waist. I froze until I got the smell of coconut, citrus, and a woody smell like the smell when it rains in the woods and it smells so nice. I knew it was Alexander but what was he doing here. I started pouting remembering he made me drop my snacks.
“Angel why are you pouting?” Alexander asked as he brought his hand under my chin to make me face him.
I tried looking at the ground again where my snacks lay somewhere on the floor. Alexander must have gotten the hit as he let go of me and dropped to the floor and picked them up before he handed them back to me. When I had them in my hands I smiled about to walk out when Alexander stopped me once again.
“Where are you going Angel?”
I pointed behind him.
“Mind if I joi..”
“Alexander where are you? We have to start heading home Mom needs to ask us something. Alexander!” Sofia screamed from the hallway.
“I have to go Angel but make sure to add some of the cream I left on your bed to your head again before you go to bed and ice it down in a couple of hours. I’ll see you tomorrow,” Alexander said as he walked out leaving me confused with the sudden nickname.
