Respecting her space is killing me. Maria had called and told me about her ex-husbands visit the other day. I thought maybe that was what knocked her off balance but she’d broken up with me before then. I know there’s something she’s not telling me and it hurts that she doesn't trust me enough to share it. Had he threatened her? She never went into too much detail with me about him but I knew he’d hurt her somehow. Whether it was emotional or physical I wasn’t sure. Maybe both. Men that hurt women make me sick.
