**** Ayla *** Overall, the next day at the diner was much less stressful. Though every time the door opened I caught myself glancing at the door checking for my stalker ex-husband. I didn’t see or hear from him at all yesterday. This is the second time I’ve had to work with Jay since I ripped out my own heart smashing it to bits breaking up with him. We don’t talk about us and he doesn’t press me. Half of me wants him to fight for me, to demand answers from me. And half of me is thankful he left me to sort myself out.  Of course, it felt like the office smelled more deeply of his delicate woodsy scent today. I was suffocating in the nearness and the loss of him simultaneously. Struggling to breathe and stay focused. We’re quiet when Jay walks me home after work. It’s a beautiful summer
