Fall is my favorite season. The long and hot summer was not quite coming to an end yet. The mountains though are typically a little cooler, the slightly cooler air in the shade was enough to offer a fall feeling. A few leaves were just starting to turn. In a couple of months, the Poconos would be aflame with fall colors. Still, the windy drive through the grass-covered rolling hills with trickling roadside streams were enough to give me joy. Mom and I don’t speak much as she drives me to the cabin. I’ve already talked myself out, reliving my days with Matthew and heartache for Jay. I’m enjoying the peace and the views instead. At the cabin, there’ll be no internet, no phone service, no car. The thought was both freeing and terrifying. It will be a great place to get my head straight. Wh
