The moment Abigail woke up she knew something was different. Her eyes were still closed but she could feel the difference. The air smelled like clean laundry and air freshener with a hint of disinfectants. That was definitely different.  She tried to roll over and immediately regretted it. The pain that pierced through her body from her side took her breath away and left her trembling.  When her brain finally cleared from the fog of pain she tried to process what was happening. Memories of the shooting at the forest house began to come back to her. She remembered getting shot when someone entered the bathroom unexpectedly behind them.
