Chapter 10 Making Jocelyn Feel Sad

692 Words
"Miss Marshall." All of a sudden, Solomon spoke without any emotion. Jocelyn stopped breathing for a moment. Although she had one night stand with Solomon, and they even bore a child, she had only heard a few words from Solomon. Moreover, he had spoken with contempt to her! It was her first time hearing him addressed her as "Miss Marshall". Besides, although the man's tone was a little bit cold this time, there was no longer the undisguised contempt. Jocelyn felt bitter in her heart. Was this because the Yarbrough family wanted to take Benjamin away? Therefore, he was being a little more courteous to her?! She pursed her lips and did not speak. Solomon continued, "You'll be staying here during this period of time. You can accompany the child to familiarize himself with the environment. Just tell me if you need anything." Jocelyn still didn't say anything. The bitterness in her heart intensified. If it weren't for Benjamin's future, hoping that he would have a better childhood... If she didn't know that Benjamin had been bullied and ridiculed in school because he didn't have daddy, how could she have let him go? How could it be possible for her to hand over Benjamin, whom she had raised for several years, to someone else?! After that, Solomon called the butler. The butler took Jocelyn to have a look at the bedroom which was arranged for her. As Jocelyn was brought upstairs by the butler, Solomon looked at her slender back walk away and a deep light flashed through his eyes. What he said just now was an opportunity for Jocelyn to speak. He thought that Jocelyn would definitely say something or even make a request. After all, he was obviously going to take his son back, but Jocelyn didn't say anything. Since the beginning to the end, she had been very submissive. This made him recall the night four years ago when Jocelyn suffered his lustful attacks. Although she whimpered in pain and begged for mercy, she still endured it silently, which made him pity her. If it hadn't been for the sudden intrusion of the media reporters, or if he hadn't known the truth, maybe he would have really... Solomon suppressed his thoughts and did not continue to think about it. ...... It was said that the bedroom was arranged for Jocelyn, but in fact, it was more like the bedroom arranged for Benjamin. As Benjamin was too young, Jocelyn had to sleep with him. The bedroom was so big that it was out of Jocelyn's imagination. It was almost as big as the apartment where she and Benjamin used to live. The bedroom was decorated as a child room. There were a lot of children's toys and even the bed was in the shape of a sports car. Jocelyn knew that Benjamin would definitely love it. Sure enough, there was a cry of surprise coming from behind. Benjamin came over. He widened his adorable round eyes, and his gaze was filled with excitement. "Jocey, I met my grandma and my great-grandma just now. They said that this is my room. Oh my God, am I dreaming?" There was a hint of uncertain in Benjamin's excited tone, "Does this wonderful room really belongs to me?!" All of a sudden, he had a Daddy, a Grandma and a Great-grandma. He entered a huge house, which was like a palace, and he also had a room that was as big and beautiful as the ones on TV! No, it was even better! Looking at Benjamin's excited look, Jocelyn was about to tear up. Benjamin had been living such an impoverished life under her care all these years. Jocelyn's life was very hard. The apartment that she rented was the smallest and the most worn-out one. Usually, she was very thrifty. Benjamin had never eaten any expensive food before, nor had he ever seen anything luxurious. That's why after coming to the Yarbrough Mansion, he was so excited! Jocelyn bent down and said, "Benjamin, it's not a dream. It's true." Benjamin cheered aloud, and then asked another question that made Jocelyn feel very distressed.
