Agostino did not reply just then. He stared down wordlessly, but soon he turned to look at Romero as though he was studying his features: the straight brown hair, his height, his grey eyes, as though deciding inside of him that Michele should do; the model bachelor albeit with rumoured dubious romantic affairs.
"My niece as you know is quite popular in these parts," Agostino said drily." She has a notorious reputation with the other families as you well know. It seemed inevitable that your family would have an interaction with her."
"I have heard a lot about her," Michele answered. "But of course, the proposition has nothing to do with her. You want me to marry your daughter and be boss of both Riveria and DiSuzzi families, isn't that so?"
