Astrid returned to walking through the woods to school the following day. She was eager to see her animal friend and had hoped to see the squire again after seeing him previously.
She squatted and whistled as she threw the piece of cake on the ground. There was nothing.
"What on earth are you doing here again?" Astrid struggled to catch her breath after being startled by an unexpected voice.
“Sky.” While rising to her feet, she called out his name.
"What's up with that cake over there?" He asked.
Insecurely, Astrid laughed. She gulped and pointed to the cake, "That." She said, unable to admit to him that she had brought it for the small animals to eat. Sky was going to be suspicious.
She felt his closeness. “Are you dating anyone?” He asked.
“A boyfriend?" Astrid made a face.
