17. His anger issues!

1337 Words
There was a silence for a moment before brat and his friends started laughing like maniacs. Okay, if they could do that with Alex giving that scary look, then there was no doubt that either they were complete bonkers or too drunk to care for their body parts. “Ooh,” brat slurred to Alex, “do you want to have fun with my girlfriend too?” What.The.Hell? When did he even manage to get that drunk? And, why was he so hell bent on getting me drunk? “Just wait for it, pretty boy, just let her have this drink first,” one of brat’s friends garbled, swinging a bottle in his hands. I was so tempted to take that bottle from his hands and smash it on his head, right then. But, Alex was two steps ahead of me. He grabbed brat’s collar and snatched the glass from his hand. “How about you have this drink first?” Alex snarled, pouring the whole glass over brat’s head. I watched with my eyes wide and mouth agape, as did brat’s friends. And, this was not even the main part. I almost let out a shriek when Alex actually went to smash the glass against brat’s head. But, thankfully, Cameron came in time and took the glass away from his hand, tossing it backwards. Though, this didn’t deter Alex at all. His eyes landed on the bottle which brat’s friend was swinging earlier. Oh my God! Alexander, the great and his anger issues were something else entirely. This time I took the initiative before he could reach that bottle, and snatched it first. Alex’s cold, deadly eyes turned to me, “Give it to me.” “No can do,” I gulped, backing away. “Look! She’s protecting me,” brat quipped, “I am her boyfriend. You stay out of this.” Okay, so maybe, no couldn’t do. This brat was really asking for this bottle to be broken on his head. Alex’s eyes flashed dangerously, and his hold around brat’s collar tightened. He slammed him to the nearest wall and raised his fist to land a punch at his nose. But, thanks to Blake and Cameron (again), who tackled Alex from behind and dragged him backwards. Meanwhile, Millie and Hailey walked up to me. “Let’s leave this cursed party before it turns even uglier,” Millie said to me. For once, I decided to agree. This party was just too much. Everything had gone only downhill, since the moment I arrived here. I watched entranced as Blake and Cameron dragged Alex towards the exit; and Ashton and Julia threatened and argued with brat’s friends. I glanced down at the bottle in my hands and then at the brat who was still somehow pinned to the wall, with his eyes wide in horror. Without thinking, I purposefully threw the bottle beside his head, making him flinch and jump at once. Millie and Hailey raised their eyebrows at me. “What?” I defended, “no one messes with Kris Noodles Mendes and walks away!” “Damn right, sis!” Julia spoke up, “now let’s get out of here.” And, with that, Blake, Julia, Millie, Hailey and I made our way towards the front door. “Alex was so scary today,” Hailey commented, midway. “I know right,” Millie shuddered, “I have not seen him so angry in that long. I mean, it was even worse than that one time when I made him change Stella’s diaper.” Everyone snickered at that. Wow! Alex changing diaper! Must be a scene! “But, do you have any idea, what made him so angry?” I asked, once everyone sobered up. “Well…that brat was being a total douche bag,” Julia replied, “I would have murdered him myself if could.” “Let’s not take that brat’s name again,” Ashton said, “it’s better not to give Alex a reminder of him.” We all agreed with him and reached the parking space. Blake, Cameron and Alex were waiting there for us. Alex actually looked more calm and composed right now, leaning casually against the car, running a hand through his hair and gazing at a distance. But, as soon as his eyes met mine, it was like all his calm flew in the air and a storm started brewing in those blue eyes. A storm ready to take me in its grasp and ruin me over and over again until there was nothing left of me. What did I do? “You both are giving each other that look,” Hailey whispered beside me. “What look?” I voiced my bewilderment. She rolled her eyes in reply, “I am not going to spell it out for you. Come on, you are not that clueless, Kris.” Well, she was right. I was not clueless. I could totally see him giving me that deathly look. And, I had no intention of dying without finding out about his shampoo first. ‘Um,” I started awkwardly, “I came here with brat, so…I will…I don’t know take a cab or something.” “Are you kidding me right now?” Blake asked in disbelief. “No,” I told him sincerely. I really didn’t want to die at Alex’s hand halfway. He looked like he was capable of killing me before I could scream, ‘bloody murder!’ “Kris,” Millie gave me a tight smile, “it will be better if you drop that silly idea out of your mind, for now. You are coming with us.” Could it be that Hailey was rubbing off on Millie? “Well, well, well, looks like you didn’t receive my gift,” a voice rang out behind us, in the silence of night. A voice that I could recognize with my eyes closed. All of us turned around to see the dreaded face of Isaac. I heard everyone cursing under their breaths, while my own breath hitched for a moment. Then, I noticed that he was alone this time and without any gun or other weapon. “You decided to show your face at a very wrong time, psycho,” Alex bit out, coming to stand in front of me. “Why, lover boy? did Kris finally get drunk and spilled her crimes to you all?” Isaac mocked, then, sighed, “I sent a special drink for her through some idiots.” So, that was him. That is why brat and his friends were being so persuasive. Blake walked in front, this time, “Listen here you scumbag. It would be better for you, that you stop harassing Kris, otherwise, fair warning, you will have us to face every time.” Everyone nodded their heads in agreement. This is what I was afraid of. This is what I was running from. Just because of me, everyone was in danger again. “Relax,” Isaac laughed, “I come in peace,” then, his eyes locked with mine, “I am tired of playing hide and seek with this bit-” “Don’t complete that,” Cameron cut him off fumingly. Isaac raised his hands in surrender, smiling creepily to himself, “Fine, fine. Just hear me out, before lugging this criminal everywhere with you.” All color from my face drained when I realized where this was going. No! No, he couldn’t- But, before I had the chance to stop him, he opened his mouth: “Do you really want to help someone who killed her own mother?”
