Chapter 7: bun in the oven

Two month’s had passed since that awful day and Jake was healthier than ever. He had been on a hunt the last three weeks and I missed him. He had told me how much he realised he loved me when his spirit had heard my grief and come back from the light or whatever you call it and seen me fall into hell.

That had been why he'd fought so hard to come back.

I was in my bathroom and looking at the scars on my stomach from where I'd been slashed, they looked years old rather then months thanks to my healing abilities.

As I was looking at the scars I couldn't help but notice the extra pounds I'd put on, I guess that's love for you, makes you slushy and hungry apparently.

But looking at it more it seemed I'd gained weight nowhere else except my slightly bulging tummy. f**k no, could I?

I yanked some jeans on, some trainers and grabbed my keys before rushing out the door and to the nearest shop. I grabbed what I wanted, paying for it and then rushed back home where I ran to the loo and took the test. It was positive.

Later that night Jake was due home so I made a romantic dinner, spaghetti bolognese, yeah that was the best I could do cooking wise, and set it up on a table with candle’s and rose petals. Applying a little makeup I let my hair flow down my back and slipped into a black corset just as he came through the door.

“Hey sexy,” I grinned and ran into his arms. He lifted me up and kissed me long and hard before setting me back down. Looking around he laughed, “what the hell is this? When did you become miss romantic?” I took a big gulp and answered, “when I found out I was pregnant.” He stared at me for ten seconds before his face split into a huge grin and he crushed me to him. “Gentle wolf boy,” loosening up but not letting go he asked, “you still going to call me that?” I nodded, “you’re always going to be my wolf boy.” With that he stroked my small bump, picked me up and took me to the bedroom.
