Chapter 4

Ellie. "Goddess! Ellie, are you okay?" Lisa takes my hand as soon as I leave the room as she cautiously inspects my form. People are standing in groups, whispering to themselves. I hate the pity glances they are sending my way. "Yeah, I'm okay." I shift my eyes to her and force a smile. I am not fine. My heart is shaking, and it is as if I am walking on the shards of a broken glass. "That's why I hate these packs. That old man's rules are destroying lives. We are not allowed to accept our mates just because we are not equals. A few alphas here are lucky enough to be mated to beta females. If their mate is lower than a gamma, then instant rejection is a must do" Lisa says and sadly sighs. "Do you have one?" I ask, looking at her, and she shrugs. "Honestly, I would rather not have one. Haven't you noticed most girls here are dating vampires? Being a wolf is becoming a curse. When our mates reject us, our wolves become weak, and after a very long time, they die, and we are as good as humans. That man will never know that because he keeps his mate at arm's length. These days, most wolves decide to turn," she whispers, and I furrow my brows in confusion. "How?" "To avoid becoming breeders for these undeserving males, after rejection, the girls find themselves a vampire, and they turn them into a hybrid. That way, if they are forced, they can't get pregnant for their mates anymore." "F*ck" I whisper, looking around me at that revelation. I knew this place was extremely strange. We shouldn't have come here at all. "The King doesn't know about this. If someone doesn't stop his madness, wolves will become the weakest species I have ever known. Only the low rank wolves are enjoying their lives, but us? It's no wonder we are locked here." "I will use the restroom," I whisper, and she nods while I hurry away. I need space. I have to cool off somehow. I think I hate this world already. Standing in front of the mirror, I look at my form and sigh. I place my mum's gun on the counter and lean forward. My eyes are a bright blue. There are tiny golden rims around them, and my long dark hair falls on my back in thick waves. My skin is fair and I have little curvy hips. I am beautiful. If you ask me, I am the hottest girl in this academy, and maybe that should give me a reason to fight. I mean, I can't let this beauty go to waste, right?. And if I have to bear babies, then they will be mine, exclusively. And that should be when I am ready. Not at seventeen for f*ck's sake. "Look at her," A voice sneers behind me, and I don't look back. She must feel so powerful right now. I shift my eyes to the girl behind me and smirk. She has the guy, right? Then why is she here? Don't they have a wedding to plan? Or perhaps focus on making babies so my life would be at atleast ease. "Yeah, look at me. I am beautiful, right?" I chuckle and finally turn to face th witch, Kelly. Her eyes glance from my head to my shoes, and they darken. This b*tch is ugly. I don't know what face is behind that excessive makeup, but I can guess it's nothing to look at twice. "I will say this once. Stay away from Zane," She says approaching me, and I shrug. "Well, he's your husband, and I don't see him here," I gesture around us and actually find this ridiculous. "Don't act smart with me. If it were up to me, I wouldn't want those bastards in my house. Just like my sister tossed your brothers away when they were merely two. But my husband wants them and I will support him..." "Then why don't you spread those ugly legs for him and start making some. I am sure with enough magic and effort, you might get lucky, right?" I cut her short, and that dull ache appears in my heart again. "Watch your mouth. You have no idea how easily I can end you right here, and no one will notice," She whispers, and her nails start to form long dark claws. "I dare you," I whisper. Just when my fingers touch the gun behind me, a great force yanks me forward, and I am slammed on the wall with unimaginable force. F*ck*ng b*tch. I stare into the dark eyes of my assaulter, and I know I should be scared, but for some reason, I am not. Instead, I feel so much anger and strength surging through my veins. Strange. "You don't f*ck*ng talk back at me, b*tch. No one does that around here," The girl dangerously whispers, and her eyes turn to dark pits. "What will you do, witch?" I whisper back, ignoring how her claws are digging into the soft flesh of my neck. I am sure they will leave a mark. Maybe when my mum sees them, she will allow me to stop coming to this sh*t hole of a school. The girl darkly chuckles. "You have no idea what I am capable of, you poor peasant." She laughs, pressing harder, and I instantly push her, causing her to stumble a couple of steps back. "Neither do you." "How dare you disrespect me?" The girl stretches her hand forward, and dark smoke starts to emit from her palm. However, an incoming presence causes her to instantly stop whatever magic she was trying to perform and plaster a soft, charming smile on her face. "Oh, Justin. I was just introducing myself..." The girl turns to my brother with a soft smile, and I scoff. Pretentious b*tch. "Stay away from her if you know what's best for you," Justin sneers and takes my hand. I quickly grab the gun and tuck it away in my jacket. "You shouldn't be alone from now on." The brother with tattoos leads me out of the restroom, and I look back only to lock eyes with dark pits of the witch. For some reason, my nerves twitch and goosebumps instantly form on my skin. What did my mum just do bringing us here?
