Christmas was quite a festive and lively holiday for families all around the world, but not mine. The last time I got to hang an ornament or decorate the house was several years ago, back when dad hadn’t shut himself in. Rick became busy with college and mom devoted her time to work. This year, she wanted to change things, and I had a feeling Odelia might’ve influenced her.
The Cages’ house was one of the most beautifully decorated in our neighbourhood, and it had been fun to help Atlanta since she had planned most of it. Siren didn’t seem to understand the concept of Christmas, since he might’ve not stayed on Earth long enough to know. We were both fish out of the pond, watching the hype from the sidelines.
Odelia invited us for dinner on Christmas, and requested we bring dad with us. I
