Finish your veggies
When baby T-Rex is a meal.”
Finish your veggies; otherwise, the tooth-fairy won’t visit you anymore.
T-Rex does not like veggies at all. His Auntie’s comments about veggies fed him.
“Veggies are not good for you, T-Rex. They make your teeth crunchy and you will have a hard time brushing your teeth. Sometimes this hurts T-Rex.” exclaimed his aunties. On one side, he wanted to make his mother happy by eating veggies, but on the other side, he was afraid of his aunties. His aunties were like the Greek mythology’s three witches who like to gather in one of the auntie’s homes and chattered all day long about their accomplishments and do’s and don’ts. They became jealous and stepped on each other’s foot because they did not want each other to be happy and proud. They will do literally anything doing these rituals. Then there’s the queen auntie who likes to visit once a year to celebrate meat meal festival. She was the one holding the big prize and gaze all day long with her sisters talking about the latest news and finding out who’s winning this time of the year. Her sisters love her though inside they did not like her because she was too sister-ish and wanted to be the queen all the time.
T-Rex liked to accompany her mother. He would bring the veggies that his mother made for the aunties. However, the aunties would ground those veggies with smears and dislike the veggies. They said in disguise and told T-Rex’s mother what the problem with the veggies is.
“They are too sour,” said one auntie.
“I agree with you. And too salty too,” said the other auntie.
“Meat is the best,” exclaimed the queen auntie while looking upon T-Rex for her empty stomach.
T-Rex just ran to one of his auntie’s room and sob.
One day, while these rituals keep on coming and made him sad and want to sob, up came the tooth fairy godmother.
“Splash, splash,” she came with a splash.
“Hey, you are splashing on me,” shouted T-Rex to the fairy.
“How can I help you, T-Rex?” asked the fairy.
“My mom argument with all her three sisters over veggies and I just did not know what to do,” T-Rex told the fairy.
“Why, what happened?” pretended the fairy unaware of what happened.
“Well, don’t you know?” pretended T-Rex knowing the fairy’s intentions and motivations.
The tooth-fairy godmother said, “Hmm… I know what you are thinking, Rex.”
“You are not helping at all,” said the T-Rex.
“Maybe you should do some help around the kitchen with your mother while she cooks for you every day. That way you can understand why your mother wants you to eat your veggies and not meat during meal time” advised the fairy.
“Really?” asked the Rex.
“He definitely is too lazy around the house. He was always sleeping and doing nothing. Not even cleaning the den,” exclaimed the fairy inside her heart.
“Hush, hush,” said the charming stick she holds on her hand.
“He will hear you what you said in your heart,” said the stick.
“I wonder where Rex’s father is… Hmm,” said the quiet down fairy.
After T-Rex finished sobbing on the bed and calmed down, the fairy godmother asked him.
She asked, “Where’s your dad, Rex?”
“He’s at home. Doing some private talk-to-talk with the other dinosaurs.”
“Okay, I have to go. Remember, if you want tooth fairy godmother to come again, you better be nice and eat your veggies.”
The fairy left.
T-Rex did his homework. He started helping his mother in the kitchen. He had been a good boy and loves his mother. He adored his mother and wanted the best for her. He craved the meat and sometimes envied the meals that his friends’ mothers gave them on school lunches but since he wanted to make his mother happy, he ate his veggies on the dinner table.
The fairy visits again.
