THE PASSAGE Gabriel and Morgan reached the lake. It was a peaceful, ethereal place. The forest gave way to sand, sand gave way to water, and water gave way to a mist so thick that it kept the eye guessing at what could be beyond it. The warm and sunny morning had quickly transformed into a somewhat chilly and grey afternoon.
