ALL ANGE’EL Sky looked back and saw Bastian approaching her as she ran to the lake. He was galloping as fast as he could, followed closely by Scout and Quinn. Without stopping, Bastian leaned his body towards the side of the horse, helping Sky jump on his back as he pulled back to a sitting position. As they approached the lake, they were almost blinded by the intensity of the light that emanated from a winged creature kneeling in front of the lake. She saw it, the creature with two white wings glowing on its back. “Gabriel?” Sky called out as she struggled to see beyond the light and the thick mist that had descended over the shore.
