the next morning adaline was startled to see that he was already in the kitchen brewing some of her coffee.
"I hope u don't mind but I took the liberty of making some coffee. I couldn't sleep.
How could she blame him. he has been through so much, and she was surprised that he was still holding it together. he was showing more self control than some adults she knew. he had a type of understanding that was not normally found in someone his age.
"I am thinking about calling in sick today. I don't want to leave u by urself right now." she stated.
"No, u don't have to do that. I'll be alright." he said.
"Are u sure" she asked?
"I'm not a child. I'm pretty sure a few hours by myself should be a cakewalk. Besides, it will give me time to think,as well as make some plans." he informed her.
"plans?" she asked.
He had to think of an answer that would suffice, without giving away what he truly meant. besides, how could he tell her,or anyone else for that matter what he planed to do.
"I just mean figure out what I am going to do now that everyone is gone." he said.
with that he was almost overcome with emotion again. But he quickly checked his emotions before they showed themselves.
"well ok then. I guess it's off to work for me. I may have to work a double so u sure u will be alright? she inquired.
"I'll be fine" he told her.
"Alright then,I guess I will see u later." she said as she walked out the door.
He watched the news as he cooked himself breakfast. the local news was calling his families murders a m******e, and they were all under the assumption that the killer had taken the boy ,and so now along with the murder charges he was facing, they also tacked on the charge of kidnapping. they had no idea how far off they truly were.
After breakfast he decided to go back to bed and try to get some rest. he was exhausted from the previous day, and since he hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, he was exhausted. After cleaning up his mess from the food he had made, he retired to the bedroom where he was fast asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
