The police officer’s words boomed throughout the interrogation room and Erin turned to look at Ethan with a smile on her face.

“I guess this is fate.” She said while she winked at me but Ethan’s gaze turned serious and disapproving.

“I hope this is not what I am thinking?” He asked with raised brows.

“Of course, it is. We made a deal, remember and I will need your help on this raid because of how dangerous it is.” She explained and Ethan shook his head.

“No. I am just being released you have not released me yet and now you want me to go straight into a raid. Does that sound okay to you?” Ethan asked, calmly as he wasn’t even willing to change his mind about not going on that raid. He needed time to himself.

“Well, this is urgent and in the police force, you have to be quick on your feet,” Erin replied, with a shrug of her shoulders.

“But. I am not in the force, you can’t order me anyhow you want. Also, I get to decide what raid I would go to…” Ethan put out his words which left Erin in disbelief. She stood up to her feet while breathing heavily.

“Erin, we don’t have much time left.” The police officer reminded and at this point, Erin was fuming. She just wanted to smack Ethan’s head but she held herself back.

“This is not the time for this, please. There are people out there that we need to save! Our backup would never be enough to get them. Why do you think I asked you to join us? Don’t sit there and act so unreasonable, we had a deal.” Erin half-yelled at Ethan while she gritted her teeth.

The room was silent for a few seconds, with all eyes on Ethan while he had his hands folded, not looking fazed at all,

“Alright.” He replied, calmly.

“What?” Erin asked.

“You are too hot-blooded. I was just teasing you. I won’t go back on my words.” Ethan stood up with a playful smirk on his face and walked past Erin who was looking at him with an unbelievable expression on her face.

On the other hand, Ethan walked calmly to the door while the system’s voice resonated in his head, telling him he just received a point boost. He was able to let Erin feel different emotions so quickly.

Roman had to suppress the smile on his face as he walked out with Erin following him behind. Those officers who locked him up were looking at him with shocked looks. He walked past them proudly while Erin instructed them.

“Everyone! Get ready. We are heading to Gas Arc.” She instructed.

“What is he doing here then?” An officer asked, pointing at Ethan.

“He is coming with us to help us,” Erin replied.

“But..”

“No buts! If you want someone to save your asses today, I need no f*****g buts!” Erin shut them up and Ethan looked at her, greatly impressed by her grit and stance.

Soon, everyone got into the police van and Ethan stood outside, looking at them. He didn’t get into the van while Erin looked at him, confusedly.

“What are you doing?” She asked.

“I won’t go in that van unless you change it.” He replied, casually.

“The f**k! Who do you think you are to order us around?” A police officer asked, already fed up with seeing Ethan around him.

“What is going on, Ethan? We don’t have much time left!” Erin folded her hands into tight fists because Ethan was giving her a headache.

“Gas arc is one of the most dangerous places in the city and you want to go in police vans? All clustered up that way while some of you are dressed in your uniforms? Do you think gangsters will stop just by seeing you all? No wonder you never had a successful raid.” Ethan said with a sneer and Erin looked at him seriously and then back at the police officers.

“Everyone! Get down, get changed, and take normal cars. Ethan and I will go first and you all can come in later as backups.” She instructed. She was truly quick on her feet and Ethan understood that she meant they would go undercover. They were dressed casually, so it was easy.

“Good,” Ethan affirmed, feeling a weird adrenaline rush, his eyes twinkling. Erin dragged him up front, to a normal-looking car as she got in behind the wheel while he sat on the driver’s side.

“So, are we acting as couples, like they do in movies? That would be nice.” Ethan suggested with a smile on his face. Erin looked at him suspiciously at first but then she nodded, seeing how feasible his suggestion was.

“Not exactly as couples but as s*x partners looking for other s*x partners.” She spoke up and Ethan looked at her with raised brows. He didn’t know what she was thinking but he was going to go along with it, but then he wasn’t just going to sleep with anybody.

“Alright.” He replied and then stretched toward her, kissing her on the cheek.

“What are you doing?” She asked, looking a bit mad.

“Getting myself into my new role.”
