Kaya’s hands shook as she stared at Josh standing in the doorway, his silhouette outlined by the dim light spilling in from the hallway. Her mind raced, her heart pounding in her chest as her pulse quickened. He knows. He has to know. Josh’s eyes lingered on her, sharp and probing, though he maintained that ever-casual air she had grown accustomed to over the years. “What are you doing here, Kaya?” Josh’s voice was calm, too calm.
