The Misadventure

"Why are we here again?", Evan asked nervously. His agitated friends, Brian and Tyler sighed loudly. "let me repeat this one more time Evan, we've been hiking forever and now there's rain pouring outside.", Tyler said; Brian continued where the other left off, "And we don't want to get cold and wet. This is the only place safe and warm." The three of them were in an abandoned hotel. It wasn't very big just two stories with a large balcony, it must have been purposed as a hotel with a view. They were welcomed by a rusty sign and paint peeling from the walls. The inside was even more eerie, creaking wooden floors, long and dark hallways; the wall paper was by far the most nerve wracking, there seemed to be blood on them. "This is very creepy. I don't think we should be here.", Evan murmured. He only got a sympathetic pat on the shoulder from Brian and an irritated sigh from Tyler. There was nothing interesting on the ground floor so they decided to climb the stairs. Tyler was ahead and it wasn't a good thing. While climbing, his leg suddenly sunk through the wood, sinking him in. Evan and Brian rushed to help him. Tyler ended up getting a deep wound and needed support to walk, Brain agreed to help. Ultimately Evan ended up taking charge. The farther they went, the darker it got. Evan was walking ahead and looked back to see the other two stood petrified as they stared at a cracked door on their left. Evan went towards them and froze too. From the crack they saw two glowing orbs. Evan shakily took out a flashlight and shone it towards the door. The orbs pounced at them and they all screamed, loud. "AHHH...ohhh. It's just a cat guys, calm down.", Brian said slightly breathless. The three of them went to a room on the second floor. They all sat down with a thump. "As much as i hate to admit it, Evan was right. This place is freaky and it's scaring the crap out of me", Tyler admitted shaking his head. All of a sudden thy heard a low moan, perking all of them up. They looked at each other, eyes as wide as saucers. "What was that?", Evan whispered. "Whatever it was we have to get out of here, fast.", Brian said hastily as he got up. They were heading down the stairs when suddenly Tyler got pulled back by an invisible force. He disappeared and a child's laughter was heard. The other two bolted down the stairs, adrenaline pumping through their veins. As they reached the hallway, the entrance was right in front of them. Both of them ran but it seemed that the hallway got longer and longer, the entrance getting farther and farther away. From the opposite direction, a spectrum came and went through Brain. Brian stooped and held on to his throat as if he was being strangled. He got dragged into a room, Evan tried to follow him but he ended up hitting a dead end. What's going on? Why is this happening?, several thoughts like this ran through his head. He ran towards the exist but never made it. Some how there was a massive hole in the ground and Evan fell in, his life flashing before his eyes. Evan woke up to the sounds of birds chirping. Confused, he got up and saw his friends unconscious next to him. He woke them up hastily. After understanding that they weren't dead, they looked around for the hotel. It was strange how they ended up outside. Suddenly Brain remembered something, "Hey. Is your leg okay?", he asked Tyler. Tyler's leg was as fine as ever. Evan saw a piece of paper fluttering around, stuck in a tree. He grabbed it and read. Turns out that the hotel was destroyed by a landslide and everyone in it died. It was safe enough to say that the three of them never came back to hike ever again.
