They made it back to the house, it was the middle of the night. She started to try to go to the dungeon. Gabriel grabbed her hands and lead her to the kitchen. “Midnight snack raid” they cheered as the boys' chest bumped. “You two are too cute,” she said. They had a pile of snacks laid out on the table. They were ripping open wrappers and stuffing them in their mouths. She went to the fridge but stopped before opening it. Pictures of her and her brother were all over the fridge. She just stared at them. There were such good memories she felt all warm and fuzzy. Gabriel walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. “You, ok?” He asked. She smiled and nodded. He liked at the fridge “is this little thing you?” He asked. Her brother ran up and looked at the picture. They started telling him about each picture. “This one I caught my brother in a hunting trap. I ticked him till he peed” she said laughing. “What were you like 4?” Gabriel asked. “I was a good hunter but mostly I liked to catch my brother and tickle him. He was too fast for me to ever catch so I had to be clever” they were all laughing on the floor when their father came in. He didn’t even say anything, he watched as they were all laughing. She jumped up and tried to tickle her brother, but he was too fast. “See, this is why I had to trap him,” she said laughing and they both smashed into their father. Their eyes dropped to the floor, “sorry father” bowing their hands. “It’s like a day never went by. Look at the junk food and shenanigans” they bowed their head lower. “I love it! Don’t stop.” Gabriel was trying to hide next to the fridge “Gabriel” he said. He slowly came out from his hiding spot, bowing his head. He was ready to be sent down to the dungeon. “it’s amazing to see you outside your cell and laughing. This might be the best day in years” he said smiling and laughing. He stood in the doorway watching. She ran up and jumped on her brother's back trying to tickle him, but she slid off him in between his laughs. Her butt made a loud thunk noise on the floor, she was so thin and tiny. They were sure she had broken something. Nobody said a word, frozen in panic. She fell on the floor laughing. “I still can’t seem to be a monkey”. At that moment/ everyone laughed when she was little, she used to pretend to be a monkey and swing through the trees. She always fell. Gabriel ran to the junk food pile, “haha the last devil dog is mine” he declared. Her brother ran over and snatched it before it was in Gabriel’s mouth. He ran after him trying to get it back. She grabbed a piece of string and set up a trap. He would trip over him, and she could finally tickle him properly. Gabriel had gotten the devil dog back and her brother was chasing behind him. He ran through the kitchen and tripped on the string. He fell face first, managing to put his hands to break his fall. Her brother laughed till he heard a loud dark roar. He made his way in front of his father to protect him. At any second, he could be the beast. She flipped him over and kissed him. His body instantly relaxed and ran his hands up her back. He rolled her over and started kissing her back. He pulled back “calm down,” he said to her sternly. As he got up pulling her up to her feet.
Her father leaned towards her brother with his arms crossed “how do we feel about Gabriel kissing her? Are you ok with your best friend kissing your sister? Am I ok with it” he asked flaying his hands? Her brother leaned in “I don’t know dad. I don’t know. It’s been a weird few days, I’m just rolling with it at this point. There both less murderous around each other” he said, shrugging his shoulders. His father nodded in agreement. He looked up at him “That doesn’t mean I wanna watch” as he looked at his father. “It’s late guys, I’ve got things to discuss with my father. I’ll see you in the morning” he shouted. They disappeared into a room off the side of the living room.
