Chapter 32The next morning after breakfast, I drove the family to the airport while Maria finished straightening up around the house. When I returned home, Maria had prepared a small lunch and was setting it out on the terrace when I walked in. I said to her as I followed her outside, “That looks wonderful, Maria.” She smiled, and we sat down to eat. “I was surprised with Cindy; she was nothing like I had imagined.
