33. Miserable

Leighton enters the building to be welcomed by the nurses with smiles, a thing he hasn't received lately. Julian's influence is stronger than he thought. The director of the orphanage asks him to follow her to her office so that they can sign the adoption papers. He was even asked if he'd like some coffee and biscuits.  An hour later, he finally leaves, but this time, a child is with him. Leighton sees his small hand holding his big one and feels the tears burning his eyes as he smiles. "Are we going to your home?" little Julian asks, his eyes shining brightly just like they used to back on the island.  "Yes," Leighton nods. "We're going home."
