THE GAMER BESTFRIEND

Everything is as normal as usual and everyone is ready to end the school year with a bang within the next 2 weeks. Not until a viral outbreak happened and the whole world was put to a break and quarantine. I was supposed to be having fun before the academic year end. I was so ready to end my freshman year and start my second year as fun and productive as I can. But fate turned out different. All the plans made was canceled and everything changed. Left with no choice… I went back to our house from the dormitories because of the ongoing pandemic. I packed all my things with me and stayed at home. It was like before I went to the university. I was a school-library-house kind of girl. College was supposed to be different but that was not the case anymore. Being so bored at the house I decided to renovate and decorate my room. I bought paints and painting equipment. Ordered bunch of bedroom stuff online to be delivered. I decided to paint my walls lavander and bought purple-violet themed things like bedsheets and pillow cases. I also bought panda designed pillows and stuff toys. I still can’t get over the fact that I am stuck inside the house AGAIN!!! I thought I was able to break free from here but not really. I was so busy painting my walls and listening to loud music when I heard a loud knock on my bedroom door. “LESLEY!!! Open up. Lesley Ann Perez open the goddamn door!” “What the hell? What on earth are you yelling for?” “The music was so damn loud and you think I won’t shout just for you to hear me?” “Oh my bad, what is it?” My brother is hella annoying as ever. “I’ll be doing a live stream later tonight with my friends over.” And what does that got to do with me? “So? Am I suppose to care?” “Uhm yes! You can’t leave your room not until we finish streaming and playing.” “What if I get hungry?” Do you own the place dude? “Get everything you need before 6pm tonight. We’re done talking.” That was so one-sided. I hate that guy in all possible way. Okay I’m easy to talk to. I need to finish drying my wall by that time to freshen up and get some rest. As productive yet lazy I was, I just ordered a take out from my favorite fast food chain - McDonald’s. My walls were dried by 4pm. Luckily I started as early as 10am or else I won’t be able to sleep in my room by tonight. I saw my brother busy cleaning up and preparing for their stream. Don’t get me wrong I love playing games and watching live streams online but I prefer playing alone as always. But on the other hand my brother loves playing with his friends and the GIRLFRIEND. I personally don’t like her but who cares right? Definitely not my brother nor our parents who can’t seem to come home and show some care for us. “You do know that we are in the midst of a pandemic right? How can you invite your friends over?” “They live near here and there are still no rules and regulations applied here in our city so shut the hell up.” Okay that was plain rude. But then again nobody cares. I leave him be and went to my room to take a shower and freshen up. After I changed to my night clothes, I heard noises from the room across and that’s the sign that my brother’s friends are here already. I turned on the tv to watch some movies on Netflix and chilled with my McDo. My phone keep vibrating. Our group chat is so noisy at that time. I decided to check it and every one was asking me to download and play Call of Duty: Mobile with them. I was hesitant at first but then my best friend (Kenneth) mentioned me and pleaded for me to download and play with them. They need 5-man for the multiplayer. I hesitantly said yes and downloaded the game on my phone. We were about to start playing after I signed up when somebody knocked on my door. I opened my door and saw Kenneth standing up in front of my room. “What the hell are you doing here?” “Hurry up and go online. You’ll play during the live stream of Bryan (my brother.” “The fck? You were supposed to tell me that beforehand you i***t!” “You won’t agree if I told you earlier. Now hurry up. And don’t open your mic! Just don’t.” We are in the lobby when my brother, Kenneth and some of their friends were talking. They were jokingly teasing Kenneth. Just then I heard him say, “Take it easy on my girl it’s her first time playing codm.” I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel that time but I kept a poker face and focused on the game. The game was kinda similar to pubg but also different. I was doing good. I thought to myself that I’m a natural at this. After we finished playing five games. Bryan ended his live stream and thanked us for playing with them. I was about to go offline but then Bryan teased me to open mic and say bye. I didn’t. I hurriedly went offline and kept my phone. It was a great game though. I had the hang of the game so I was looking forward to playing it next time. Not tonight, I can’t anymore. I was so sleepy even during the game. I keep getting drowsy. My character was like a fool because of me ?? Kenneth called me on my number. “Thanks for the game. Get some rest. Talk to you tomorrow.” He really knows me. Thumbs up for that. As I was ready to sleep. My phone buzzed. I checked it and saw my brother added me on my Garena account. The hell? Does he not notice or know at all that this is my gaming account? Such an i***t. I accepted him because I wanted to tease him about being simp and all. “Nice game. You should come to my place next time to play live with us.”
