“No,” Felicity breathed, shaking her head. Her expression was much more resolute now. As much as she started to regret her decision to be strong, she didn’t want to seem weak in front of Jared. Especially now that he had offered her an out. He would make all kinds of fun of her if she left now. “I’m not backing down now.” Jared remained silent as he watched Felicity’s eyes dart around the pier. It seemed she was searching for an escape route, but they both knew that would be incredibly awkward if she wanted to leave now. He wasn’t sure what to do. On one hand, he wanted to see her experience this. He recognised how competitive she was because he saw the same trait in himself, and she would feel so much better after conquering one of her fears. He knew how much she would hate backing down
