Jared considered his next question for quite some time. He worried he was going to put a dampener on the mood. They’d had a good day so far. “Surely, you would’ve had a better summer, though, if you’d spent it with your boyfriend instead of me?” Jared asked, realising that they were, of course, only each other’s last resort. He didn’t want to put himself automatically so high on her priorities list. Felicity was thinking about her priority list, as Jared had assumed, but for a different reason.
