When Lillian returned to Cyprus, she didn’t feel quite herself and, for once, she thought that was no bad thing. Whereas in the past, leaving the UK would have triggered a haze of bereavement lasting two or three days as she struggled to adjust to the distance between herself and her children, this time it was different.
