“ Far out what’s with my balance today’
“I don’t know I think you did alright” came a muffled coughing voice from the car bonnet. Malcom lifted his head to look at me sitting in the dirt. His beautiful face, had glass and had large bits of tissue missing. With a lot of effort I stood up, looking back at the wolves that attacked me now dead on the ground. I walked over to Malcom and put my hand out to help Malcom off the front of the car. A light suddenly engulfed us, from the road. A car pulled up. A bunch of men jump out of the car and rush over to us, speaking some sort of language I didn’t understand. One man comes up to me, pulling me off the ground and starts shoving me in the back, motioning me to get into the car.
“Its alright Zaria, they work for the organisation” huffs Malcom in a low raspy breath, as multiple men drag him off the bonnet. I walked over to the car and take a seat in the back. Through the front window, I can just make out the bodies of the wolves I killed. Malcom is slide in next to me, by the men. He looks like he has been thrown off a cliff.
“ Who were those wolves?”
“I’m guessing there rogues, we were lucky there wasn’t more of them. We must have just made it into Moon clouds territory” he grumbled with a lot of effort, his eyes closed.
“ Well its one way to make an entrance”
He half smiled at me and nudged me with my elbow. We drove off leaving some men there to deal with the car and bodies.
Light started to creep over the mountain as we were driving up the mountain. Amber and golden flecks were coming thought the trees. A castle came into the distance, Getting closer we saw a good few dozens of people standing at the front of the entrance. Pulling up to the door in the car, a person walked up and opened it. I slide out, I turned around to help Malcom out of the car. A few gasps rang out from the individual in the small crowd, followed by whispers. I looked around at the people, the same foreign language was been spoken, bewildered looks were been given.
“ Is something in my teeth” I whispered into Malcoms ear, while I placed his arm over my shoulder.
“ It's not everyday a were community meets an elf” he grimaced back.
The entrance door flung open. A tall elderly vampire stood there, beckoning us inside. Struggling behind the man, we slowly walked behind him. Wordlessly he showed us to our room. Opening the door into a beautiful lounge area, with a bedroom off either side of it. Windows ran along the far wall. Baskets of fruit and pastries sat on the coffee table in the middle of the room. Still half carrying Malcom I pushed him over to the nearest bed, helping him to sit down on the side of the bed. A decanter of blood sat on a low table in the main living area. I fetched it and poured him a glass. He snatched the decanter and started drinking from it. Shrugging I came and flopped next to him on the bed. The first time in a few hours feeling how tired I was. Accessing my clothes, my jeans and t-shirt had been ripped, covered in dirt. Small cuts were clearly visible all over my skin. My heeled boots had faired well considering the fight.
"Well... is it always this fun travelling with you"
"Well you can't say it's boring" he smiled down at me. His face knitting it self together already. His eyes lingering on me as he drank, his eyes showing a far away longing look. Sitting there on the side of the bed, his bloody body exposed and ripped. Half his shift had been ripped off, he had a huge laceration around his torso that was already healing. He sat there and ripped what was left of his shirt off. His giant chest, dirty with dirt and blood glittered in the sun coming through the window, highlighting his pecs and abs. He looked back down at me at his side. A huge sigh came out, as he looked longingly at me next to him. My body tingled, goosebumps rising where he was searching my body. Squeezing my legs together to try to stop the wetness growing in between them. I tried to steady my mind thinking of something else then wanting Malcom. Reminding myself he was off limits being part of the same clan as my deceased vampire husband. I sighed with that thought and closed my eyes letting the wave of exhaustion take over me.
