Chapter 5 - For as far as we know

Alexander POV

As soon as the car stopped, I pushed the guys off me and forced myself out of the car. I was furious; who were they to keep me away from my mate!

The guys followed right after me though and stood in front of me trying to calm me down.

“Come on man, calm down please, we were just trying to help.” I heard coming from Zeds mouth. He was my to become gamma and I knew he meant every word he said but I just couldn’t believe what he had just did.

“How dare you, who you think you’re talking to?! And helping me, like what the actual f**k Zed? You guys keeping me away from my mate and leaving her with him?! How is that helping?!”

I growled at him while my angry gaze pierced him to the ground, and I could see him shrinking and wanting to disappear with every second that passed. I hated to pull rank on him like this, he was one of my best mates, but he was way out of line. I looked around to see the other guys shrinking at my gaze as well. All but Lucas, he walked towards me with his hands up in sign of surrender and it made me calm my tense just a little, until he started to talk.

“Please Alex, just listen, none of the guys or me were trying to harm you in anyway, or your mate, or take you away from her.”

“BULLSHIT!” I growled, but he kept on going.

“But Alex we were in human territory, at a club filled with humans, and your mate may for as far as we know be a human too, and you were scaring the s**t out of her and her friends. Is that really how you want to meet and introduce yourself to her for the first time?”

“and about the other guy, I think you took pretty good care of him, so I don’t think you have to worry about him being around your mate, he’s human remember?” Zed added with almost a whisper from behind.

The other guys kept silent, and I was silent for a moment as well. I knew Lucas was right I just hadn’t realized it before, at the moment I saw her, my mate, I stopped being and acting rationally.

“I’m sorry guys” I sighed and looked around “you’re right, I was the one out of line.” I added.

They all nodded and shrug their shoulders

“It’s all right man, you just met your mate, if you can’t act out when that happens then when can you really?” Lucas laughed at me, and the rest of the guys followed and went into loud howls to the moon in the night sky. We had all clearly forgot about the surroundings but were all about to get a cold wakeup call as I heard a very familiar voice behind me. Mom.

“What the hell are you guys doing out here?! Waking up the whole pack with your late-night howling?!”

“Sorry Luna” they all mumbled and looked to the ground

“It’s just Laura boys, and you know that by now, but if you keep waking the pack like this, I’ll get Matheo down here to kick your asses, okay?” She said with a light smile waving them of “Go get some sleep you guys before I change my mind”

She then locked her stare at me “Alexander De Von Coure of the Sapphire moon pack, you care to explain?!” I knew she wasn’t letting me of the hook for disturbing her night sleep and waking her up for this foolish guy nonsense. Not by the look of her face, the stern tone of her voice and the fact that she used my whole name.

“I’m sorry mom, we didn’t mean to disturb the silence or wake up the pack--”

“I know you didn’t son, because I raised you better than that” She interrupted me “And that’s why you are going to tell me why you thought that your guy’s amusement were more important than the rest of this packs sleep, you are darn lucky that your father sleeps like a rock.”

Oh god I hadn’t even thought of my dad, he hated being woken in his sleep. I clearly didn’t want him out here as well schooling me like I was 10 years old again.

“I found my mate” I stated. Saying the only thing I knew would get my mother to cool down and switch focus and as the words escaped my lips that’s exactly what happened. I saw the flash of emotions shifting on her face, excitement, happiness, understanding and then confusion. She looked up at me and then with the most caring voice she asked;

“Darling that’s great, then I get why you were celebrating, but where is she now then?” she looked around trying to figure out if she missed someone or something. This was the difficult part. I knew she had been wanting me to find my mate and waiting for her to meet her in forever, and now I finally had and revealed it to her, but she couldn’t get the full experience. It devastated me just as much because neither could I.

I looked into her concerned eyes

“She’s on human territory mom, and I’m not even sure whether she’s human or werewolf. It all happened so fast, and I may never get to see her again, I think I scared the s**t out of her” I said looking towards the ground as I felt her hands on both side of my face lifting it up to meet hers.

“Don’t give up so easily my love, whether she’s human or not the moon goddess chose her for you for a reason and we will figure this out one way or the other, we just need to talk to your dad, he’ll know what to do.”

I forced a smile on my face for her fighting spirit.

“And she’ll come around no matter what you did to scare her, as long as you didn’t kill anyone” She laughed, then turned all serious and raised a brow at me “You didn’t kill anyone son?” she asked.

“No mom of course not” I rolled my eyes at her even though I actually could have killed that guy tonight if it wasn’t for the guys, but she didn’t need to know that and I’m glad I didn’t because that would have been a lot to have to explain and come back from if she was human.

“Good son, cause I really don’t want to give up my dreams of grandkids just yet” she smiled at me with a smirk on her face.

“Mom please, can we just get her to know me as the first task on our list” I said laughing at her.

“Of course, now go to bet so we can get this mission going first thing in the morning I ain’t getting any younger son.”

I rolled my eyes at her again and gave her a quick hug and went for my bed.

All I could think about was how to fix this mess.

I recalled what Lucas had said and then the last look on my mate’s beautiful face. He was right she had fear painted across her face when I left the club, not only fear also lust and I didn’t know if the fear was because of me, but I hated it on her sweet face. The lust at the other hand I hoped was for me and me only.

I wanted to be with her right now, tug her in tightly and explain everything to her, but I had to fight this urge until I knew what I was getting myself into and how to address her. I needed to know more about her.

As I laid down and closed my eyes I saw her once again on the back of my eyelids. She was in the little red dress on the middle of the dancefloor, and I wished I was the one hugging her curves like that fabric did, making every little part of her mine.

She just needed to be mine.
