Nathalie POV
I couldn’t breathe with him this close to me and I couldn’t move because of him. I just stared up at him in silence as he watched my face as if he was looking for something. His lips parted as if he were about to say something, but I interrupted as a moan I didn’t manage to stop escaped my lips from the feeling of his hot breath that touched my neck. Where the f**k did that come from? I wanted to hit myself, but I couldn’t. He froze as the moan had escaped my lips and let go of me as if I had just burned him, I couldn’t read the emotions on his face, but I could see the way his tensed body started to move. He was going to leave me here just like that. Again.
I felt the anger bottle up inside of me as I reached for him just as he turned around to leave.
“What are you doing?! Don’t you dare just leave me like this after what happened!” I said with my voice raised and filled with frustration attracting us some stares from people who walked by. As I reached his wrist and forced him to stop, I felt his body tense all over once more. Was he afraid of me? I was the one who should be afraid of him. He looked at me in frustration as if he were at war with himself when he finally spoke.
“I can’t… We can’t talk… Not here… Not now” he stuttered out as if he was afraid of what my reaction would be. But I wasn’t buying it, I needed answers and I needed them like yesterday.
“YOU CAN’T JUST CUT ME OF LIKE THAT, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING INSAN…..” I started yelling but was cut off when he lifted me up of the ground bridal style and took me out of there, only placing me down on the ground again when we were at the foot of a forest, with no people around. I was furious. Who did he think he was, he couldn’t just take me away like that, was he going to kidnap me? Or worse r**e me? Not on my watch. I threw my hand at the side of his chin without further thinking and I hit him hard slapping him across the face, he didn’t even manage to stop the punch as I took him of guard, I frowned at him, and I could feel the anger radiating from my body. He wasn’t affected by it at all he was just trying to wrap his head around what had just happened, I could see the confusion in his eyes. I lunged out to hit him again, but he stopped my hand midair and pinned me up against a tree behind us with his one hand around my wrists above my head.
“STOP HITTING ME!” he growled at me and I flinched under the frustrating sound of his voice, even though it had an angry tone to it, it was so deep and masculine, but soft and humming to my ears so that I didn’t know what to do, he was a lot stronger than me and if he wanted to he could get his way with me, whatever was on his mind.
“..please don’t hurt me..” I whispered looking down at my feet feeling my eyes becoming glossy under his penetrating gaze.
“Look at me” He ordered, and I obliged, his tone was not hard at me anymore, it was soft like silk and filled with worry and so were his dark eyes as I slowly met them with my teary eyes as one tear fell on my cheek.
He wiped away the tear with his free hand and it gave me goosebumps all over when I felt his skin on mine, I sighed.
“I would never hurt you he said” emphasizing the never as he traced his thumb down my jawline.
I could feel the sincerity in his words, and I knew he meant every one of them, but that did not answer all the questions I had, and I couldn’t stop my mouth from running.
“Who are you?” I said with a shaky voice not knowing what answer to expect.
“Alexander, my name is Alexander Smith” he said after a little while still holding me tight against the tree with his body only inches from mine.
“Are you real or am I going insane, I thought I was, have you been following me since that night, have you been stalking me?” the words came out so fast that I couldn’t stop them, and I quickly looked away in embarrassment. “..sorry” I whispered.
He moved his head even closer, down to my neck and held his lips just beside my ear as he whispered
“Why are you whispering?” with a smirk on his lips and I could feel the reaction my body made, shivering all the way down my spine from his words, but he didn’t stop there.
“..and yes I am very real, you are not going insane I can assure you that, I will show you how real I am” he whispered as his lips graced my collarbone.
I shivered once more and fought to hold back a moan. I turned to look him straight in the eyes.
“You didn’t answer my last question” I said in a stern voice no longer a whisper.
“I might have been ‘stalking’ you if that’s what you would like to call it” he answered looking me straight in the eyes no emotions crossing his face. It made me furious again just enough to gather my strength and push him off me.
“What the hell? Why?! You made me think I was going crazy, why would you do that to me?!” I demanded looking at him with a frown as he were standing now two steps away from me.
I could tell that he didn’t know what to say or how to answer my question, he was clearly debating with himself about what the smart answer was. “I’m sorry, I truly am, I just needed to get to know you better” he answered after a while.
I could feel he was not telling the whole truth and no matter what his reasons it wasn’t a sane thing to do, following people around and stalking them.
“Do you know how insane that is?!” I snapped at him.
“You know you could have just walked up to me and said hi instead, as a normal human being” I said, and I sensed that the last part made him tense.
“Were you at my bedroom last night in the corner as well?” I spit out before he managed to move or answer me. I could tell I caught him red handed as his eyes widened and he froze. I gasped and shook my head in disbelief at him, that was more than answer enough for me and I turned to leave. I needed to get out of here, and as far away from him as possible. But within a few seconds he stopped me by the grip of my wrist and turned me around holding me still at the spot right in front of him with his hands on my waist.
“Please don’t leave like this” he said his voice all shattered, covered in desperation and I could tell he had no clue what to do about the whole situation.
“I promise I will explain it to you, all of it, when the time is right” he pleaded.
“Please just trust me on this one, I never meant to hurt you in any way.”
I knew it was crazy but as we stood there and I watched how desperate he was I couldn’t stay mad at him, I desperately wanted to make him feel better. I reached my hand out and graced his chin. He pushed his head into my hand and looked at me with those piercing eyes as they turned dark from the contact of our skin. It made me gasp and jump back a little, as I remembered my dream from last night where he had looked at me with the same lustful eyes, I could feel my cheeks burning red as I looked at him and he was clearly surprised by my sudden reaction as he took a step closer to have me in between his hands again.
“What’s wrong” he said looking down on me with a confused and caring look.
“How much exactly did you see in my bedroom last night” I asked too embarrassed to meet his gaze. I felt him lighten up and I could feel his gaze intensifying upon me.
“Enough” he answered with a smirk plastered across his face and when I looked up at him in disbelief, he let out a laugh at my embarrassment and then turned to pierce me with a gaze so lustful as if he wanted to devour me whole right on this spot. I couldn’t take it the embarrassment was too much and I wanted to just dig a big hole for myself to hide in, but instead I moved my hands up to cover my face.
He lifted me up bridal style and I felt my head leaning on his chest making me hot and bothered all over. He removed my hands from my face.
“Don’t cover up, you look beautiful with some color in your cheeks, just as beautiful as you did last night in those silk sheets” he said teasing me goofily with a smirk on his face. “Now let me get you home safely” he continued as he started running with me in his arms. I didn’t want to go home, but I clearly had no choice, so I closed my eyes and felt the wind across my face as he ran with me as though I was light as a feather, leaning my head against his chest until we reached home. My home.
