As soon as my eighth birthday arrived, mother said, "Caine, now that you are 8 years old, you will be enrolling to the Imperial School this year."
I momentarily blanked out. It was so sudden!
"W-What?!?!"
"What's with that reaction? Do you know how many people want to get enrolled into the school but can't?" Mother pouted and looked at me as if she was looking at a spoil brat.
"B-But I want to stay with father, mother, and Raine!" No, it's true. I don't want to go to any school and just wanted to stay with my family.
Before I reincarnated as a human, I have heard many conversations about how boring schools were whenever I flew past some kids. Of course, dragons have extremely good hearings.
"Fu-fu, are you sure that you aren't just saying as an excuse?" Mother asked in a testing manner.
"O-Of course not! I really don't want to leave my family, so please don't send me to school!"
Mother chuckled and rub her hand against my hair, messing it up, "Sorry, no can do. How about this, I'll let you pick the servant that will accompany you during your stay in the school."
After a few seconds of thoughts, I reluctantly sighed. It seems like nothing will change mother's decision.
"Fine~" I pouted.
Mother momentarily pinched my nose.
"Ouch! Mother it hurts!" I place both of my hands against my nose, even thou it didn't hurt a tiny bit.
"Look at you, being spoiled from all these years, even to the point saying that you don't want to go the Imperial School. So, tell me who are you going to bring with you?"
I hesitated for a moment before, replying to mother's question, "Nina, I want to bring Nina with me."
Mother blinked then asked, "Are you sure? Did you know that discrimination to beastkins in the capital is much worser than here?"
"Yes, I know. With me there, no one will dare to discriminate her!"
Immediately after I finished my sentence, mother pinched my nose again, "Don't talk nonsense, the Earl is of the lowest rank among the other nobles in the Imperial School. If you are unlucky you might even cross path with a royal, so don't you dare go offending others in the school, alright?"
"Y-Yes."
That's right, the Imperial School is not just anyone could enrol into. Only Royals and high-ranking nobles could receive such privilege, only nobles of the Earl rank and above could enrol in.
The Imperial School, however, is completely free. The reason being is to ensure that Royals and nobles are always smarter and more powerful than commoners. It's to keep image of superiority and to suppress the commoners.
"You should ask Nina first, before deciding."
"Mhm, I shouldn't force her if she doesn't want to go." I nodded my head agreeingly.

As usual, Nina was in Raine's playing with Raine outside in the garden. Ever since Raine was able to walk, she constantly went to the garden to take care of the flowers, sometimes she gets me and mother to accompany her too.
"Raine! Nina!"
"Brother!" Raine immediately came running to me.
I carefully picked Raine up from the ground, "Raine, did you miss brother?"
"Hmph! Brother is always so slow!" Raine replied angrily.
"Ha-ha! Sorry, I had to speak with mother today. It seems like I won't being seeing Raine for a long time." I smiled wryly.
"W-What why?!" Raine immediately asked, all of her anger previously is no where to be seen and is replaced with a worried face.
I knew Raine will care about me!
"Sigh, your brother will have start going to school soon, and I can only come back home for every 3 months." I replied with a sad tone.
"I-I don't want brother to leave me." Raine tightly embraced me.
"I'm sorry, I have to go." Trust me Raine, If I had a choice then I would never want to leave your side.
Mhm, maybe I should burn the school down.
I quickly discarded that thought and wryly shocked my head, it seems like I am willing to do anything for my family.
"Oh! By the way Nina, mother-" Wait, I can't. Nina is the only one left to accompany Raine when I'm gone. Mother and father are always busy with their works, as for the other maids, Raine doesn't speak to them much.
Raine seems to only talk to those that she is extremely familiar with or at least at the same age as her. I can't take Nina away, that will be true cruel for Raine!
"Yes, Young Master?" Nina asked with a confused look.
"N-No, it's alright. Don't worry about it."
"Nina, while I'm gone please take care of Raine for me. Alright?"
"Y-Yes, of course." Nina replied.
Mhm, if I'm gone then the other maids would likely start bullying Nina even more. I hesitated for a bit then reached my hand to Nina and gave her a small blue crystal bead.
"Y-Young master this?"
"Keep this blue crystal bead with you at all time. If anyone threaten your life then don't hesitate to break."
"W-What, how can I keep such treasure?" Nina slides her hand forward, trying to pass it pack to me.
"Nina it's fine. First of all, it's not a treasure. Secondly, this is for your safety as well as Raine's." That's right, Nina will be by Raine's side for the entire time when mother and father is busy.
If any danger come to Raine, then Nina will be there, of course I will have the GUI to monitor the mansion 24/7 but who knows, it's better to be safe than sorry. This is the safety of Raine, I cannot lower my guard!
"…O-Okay." Nina looked a bit hesitant for a bit, but since I said it concern the safety of Raine, only then did she agreed.
