Everyone became surprised, even the Earl himself who was the one giving the order.
All of the knights were curious of how the Earl managed to detect the incoming beasts earlier than the magician, while the Earl is curious of how Caine managed to detect them.
Caine, who supposed to be mana-less and talentless has a skill for detecting beasts? The Earl could hardly believe it.
'Could he really be the descendant of the demons?' The Earl became even more suspicious of Caine's origin, but he didn't have time to think more on it as the first wave of beasts crashed into their formation.
Boom!
Two high-level beasts who looks to be the same race as the five wolves that they hunted down earlier, came crashing into their shield wall.
The knights stood their ground and held there shield up to prevent the wolves from breaching inside their formation.
Once the two beasts lost it's momentums, the knights slide to the side a little bit, opening up a gap about 2 inches for the spearman's to shove their spears toward the beasts, while still preventing the beasts from getting in.
Sploosh!
Spoosh!
Two spears simultaneously impaled the two wolves, then the spearmen quickly retracted their spears and the knights quickly closed the gap between the shields.
"Incoming!"
As soon as someone shouted that, five more wolves could be seen from the distance, they were charging towards them from all side.
"Damn it! For all of them to be from the same race, it must mean that there is a boss!"
"These aren't your normal wolves either, their skins seem to be thicker and their speeds are twice as fast!"
"Just how many more are there?!"
"Focus on the formation!" The Earl's order immediately shut them up.
The Earl himself was at the centre of the formation, wielding a bow along side with the magician who began to cast spell to burn all of the dead wolves, this is to prevent build up for the beasts to jump over the defensive formation.
Caine also took out a cross bow that was hung behind his back, it was just a normal cross bow alongside with couple of steel bolts that he found in the armoury.
After several waves of high-level wolves, the numbers finally lessen.
"I think that was the last of them."
"It should be, we just killed over 30 of them!"
As the knights started to talk among themselves again, the Earl turned to glance at Caine and asked, "Caine, is that all of them."
Caine took a glance at the Local Map that only he can see. All of the red dots seem to be retreating while only one of them is heading toward their current position.
Three-Eyed Wolf (Status: King) – LVL 37
Caine momentarily shock his head and replied, "No, there is one more. It's stronger that the rest of them."
"Don't lower your guard!" The Earl who no longer doubted Caine's accuracy on detecting the beast quickly ordered the knights.
After a minute of complete silent, a white figure momentarily appeared from the distance. It was heading toward their position.
Once the figure gains a good amount of distance, it suddenly stopped and howled toward the sky.
Everyone was now able to clearly see the appearance of the white figure. The figure that came form the distance was a wolf similar to the ones that they just killed, but this one has white furs, it also possesses three eyes instead of two. It's size is also three times larger!
The knights momentarily gulped; they clearly understood the one that is currently heading toward them is a king. For a beast to be recognised as king by its clan, it must possess immense strength and abilities compared to the others.
"Wall formation!" The Earl's sudden scream immediately brought all of the knights back from their shock.
Ta ta ta…
It only took five seconds for the knights to quickly disassemble from their current formation to their new, wall formation.
