Chapter 12: Buying A Present for Raine

Another couple of months had already passed by and Raine's Birthday will be here in just another two weeks. I wanted to prepare a present for her, but I don't what to give her.
Sure, I could make one by myself using my Creation ability but how am I supposed to explain its origin?
"Mother is it alright if I go to town today?" I asked Mother who was feeding Raine liquid food.
I don't know why but Mother became stunned and covered her mouth.
"Oh my, Caine it's your first time taking the initiative to ask to go out. Normally it's Mother who asks you."
Mhm, now that I think about it I haven't been out of the mansion much, the only time I go out is when I'm with Mother and Raine.
"Alright then, I should be free after lunch today."
"No Mother, I meant to say that I want to go out to town by myself."
Mother quickly embraced Raine and acted pitiful, "Raine, look at your brother. He is all grown up and doesn't want us anymore."
"Brother…" Raine held her hands against her chest and bit her bottom lips as if she was trying not to cry.
"Th-That's not what I meant! Raine, your brother will always love you!"
"Ha-ha, Alright then I'll stop teasing you."
Mother's expression then became solemn and said, "I'll allow you to go out to town but only under the escort of the knights. Do you understand?"
"Yes~"

After lunch I finished lunch, I went straight to the town market without resting, of course under the escort of two experienced knights. I made sure to ask Mother for 10 Silver Coin before coming out here.
The market was busy as always, full of venders and travelling merchants. Most of the stuff they sell are imported foods, it can't be helped since recently the soils had gotten worse and local farmers are unable to keep up with the demand.
Mhm… What short of stuff does Raine like?
Just as I was walking about in the market with my local map opened, I notice a red dot entering it, which represent hostile. The local map shows anything within a one-kilometre radius, according to GUI the hostile dot belongs to a Wyvern.
Wyvern – Level 44
Not good! It seems the wyvern is heading closer towards this city.
If the wyvern really were to attack the city then everyone here would be in danger, the city has a total of 60 knights in garrison, enough to deal with it but if the wyvern really was to attack the city then a high number of casualties is in evitable.
I must stop it before it reaches the town. It's best to avoid bloodshed on both side if possible.
I looked towards the two escorts who was closely following behind me.
No, I can't allow them to follow me. They would surely report everything back to Mother.
As I pretend to stroll the market, I intentionally headed towards the more crowded spots.
When the view of the escort is blocked…
"There's free coins on the floor!"
Everyone on the street instantly flocked towards the source of the voice, while I sneaked out of the crowd and hid within the alley, without the two escorts noticing.
Without delay I quickly mauve my way around, then before long, I managed to escape the wall of the city and headed towards the direction of the wyvern.
The direction of the wyvern quickly led me deep inside the forest, this particular forest had already been cleared out by the army so there wouldn't be much high-level beasts around.
As I was making my way towards the wyvern, a carriage who looked to be carrying to elderly couple could be seen from ahead.
Before long I arrived in front of the carriage, the elderly man who was driving the carriage came to a halt, so I too stopped, it would be rude to just passed by.
"Young man, it isn't safe to travel through this forest. It's best to return now before it gets dark."
The two couple had ears and tails of a fox. They were beastkins.
"Thank you for the warning, but my must collect some medical herbs for my sick Mother." Luckily, I didn't wear any clothes that specifically stands out, so the lie was more believable.
At this moment, the window on the carriage slightly opened and a pair of small eyes peaked out. The person inside seems to also be a beastkin, a young one.
"Alright then but be careful and do make sure to come back before it starts to get dark."
"Yes, thank you." I thanked them once again before continuing my travel towards the wyvern.
It's best to finish this quickly before Mother get worried. The two escorts must have already returned and reported back to Mother.
I once again checked the map and from the looks of it, the wyvern had stopped on it's track. It seems like it had sensed my dominating aura.
…
"Human?"
When I finally arrived at where the wyvern was, the wyvern seems to have became confused and shocked at the same time.
"How can a human possess such a dominating aura!"
"Please leave this place and never come back." I spoke in the language of dragons which once again shock the wyvern.
"Y-You can speak the language of dragons?!"
"Y-You, are you a dragon?!" The wyvern asked in a stuttering tone.
"Whether I am a dragon or not has nothing to do with you. All you need to do is leave this place forever and you will get to keep your life." I spoke with a dominating tone.
The expression of the wyvern became conflicted.
After a long period of silent the wyvern finally flapped it's wings and floated into the sky. "Fine!"
Seeing the wyvern disappear in the distance, I finally heaved a sigh of relief. I didn't want any bloodshed if possible, so it was fortunate for it to all end well.
I opened up the map once again to check if the wyvern really kept it's words but then…
Those, dots are the previous beastkins that I saw. They are under attack by bandits!
No! One of the dots disappeared, I must quickly make my way there!
