Chapter 25: First Princess

*** Narrator PV Continued:
"S-Someone quickly take a look at the prince! Quickly take him to the infirmary!" The instructor who was in charged of the battles quickly exclaimed.
Two knights quickly rushed to Prince Flynn with a stretcher made out of clothe and wood. After gently putting Prince Flynn onto the stretcher, the two knights immediately transported him to the direction of the infirmary.
"T-This, did he just beat a Royal?"
"Just how strong is he? Aren't royals unbeatable?"
"Not only is he able to use chantless magic but he also has a higher mana capacity than Prince Flynn!"
It was publicly announced that Prince Flynn was born with a high amount of mana. What's more, Prince Flynn is also well known for his dedication in levelling up himself, so his mana should have already been way above others.
The students exploded in uproar, immediately filling the stadium with all kind of comments. Seeing that, Principal Frosten amplified his voice with magic and shouted, "Silent! Prince Flynn only fell unconscious due to mana depletion and had already been taken care off."
After that, Principal Frosten turn to glance at the instructor, "Instructor Wayne, please announce the winner."
Hearing that, Instructor Wayne's expression became troubled. Does he really have to announce Caine, who is only the son of an Earl as the winner? Nothing like this had happened since the founding of this academy!
Instructor Wayne sighed reluctantly then declared, "T-The winner of this competition is Caine Von Rustichel."
The crowd once again exploded in uproar with mixed reactions. Some were truly inspired by Caine's achievement, while others thought that he cheated and must have used some sort of support artifact to win.
In the end, everyone was dismissed and they all either returned back to their dorm or met up in the courtyard with the other students.
Since Caine had no interest in speaking with the other students, he just went straight back to his dorm. He wanted to investigate much more about his special abilities and the GUI.
This all started when he unintentionally discovered that he can materialise a body and insert a soul into it, but the cost of materialising a body is no joke. Especially a human body which cost 80% of his current total mana capacity, something that he can not afford back then with the incident of Nina's grandparents.
Back when he discovered this at the Earl's household. He had tested this ability with a newly killed chicken that he obtained from sneaking into the kitchen, he used his power to materialise a new body and transferred it's soul to the new body. Lo and behold, it worked!
After several more experiments, he found that if a living organism is dead for over 12 hours then the soul will completely cut off from it's original body and disappear, possibly to the reincarnation cycle.
This is why he wanted to find out more about these abilities that was gifted by Doom, after all he is no longer back in the Earl's household, his little sister, Raine is not here accompany him in his free times.

At the same time in a luxurious dorm room that is five times grander than Caine's.
"Instructor Wayne, greets your highness the first princess." Instructor Wayne clasped his hand and bowed toward the girl who looked around 12 years old, she was lying down on a sofa bench with two maids massaging her back.
"What is your business today?" The first princess asked coldly with her eyes still closed.
"There something I need to report about Prince Flynn's mock battle today."
After hearing Instructor Wayne mentioning the name 'Flynn', the first princess's expression stiffen and her tone became colder, "Why are speaking about that brat? Did he win? Well isn't that a natural result, after all no matter how dirty his blood are, he still has half the blood of a royal."
"No, I would not have came here to report such a trivial thing if it was that... Your Highness, Prince Flynn actually didn't win the battle, he lost." Instructor Wayne's tone became more quiet as he look behind him to make sure that the doors are properly closed.
"What?! Repeat that at once!" The first princess ordered the maids to stop and help her up.
"Yes. Prince Flynn actually didn't win the battle, he lost." Instructor Wayne repeat the last part.
The first princess became confused, "How is that possible? We all knew that brat had been training and levelling up himself this entire time, I myself had even seen his prowess, how can someone of the same age beat him?"
The first princess realised that she asked the wrong question, so she added, "Who is it?"
Instructor Wayne immediately replied, "The person is Caine Von Rustichel, son of an Earl."
The first princess squinted her eyes and repeated the last word to herself, "An Earl..."
After a moment of silent, the first princess finally spoke with an imperative tone, "Alright, investigate fully of this person's background and make sure to report back to me of any movement of that brat. If he tries to invite that person to his side then immediately come and report to me without delay."
"Yes, your highness." Instructor Wayne clasp his hands and bowed once again.
"Alright you did good, here is your reward." The first princess instructed the maid to deliver a pouch full of gold coins.
Instructor Wayne happily received the pouch full of gold coins and clasped his hand once again, "It's my honour to serve your highness, the first princess."
