CHAPTER 1: GOODBYES FOR NOW RAINA P.O.V One week before Ricky and my birthday we were to have dinner with Alpha and Beta families. Which was something we did often because we all lived in the pack house. At dinner, I learned a day after our birthday Ricky would be leaving for his training with the future alpha Semaj and beta son Ralph. He would be gone a whole year I can't lie it upset me to hear the news. Ricky and I were very close and for him to leave me was too much to take because we shared a lot. It was going to be hard without him around but I still had my three best friends April, May, and Oliver to keep me sane. April and May are twin sisters and their mother is a teacher a Stone Pack High she taught History there. Nylah and Kevin's home was my home away from home since April, May and I grew up together. Kevin was our head warrior at the Blackstone Pack and a very good one at that he didn't take s**t from anyone including the alpha. Oli's mom died in his old pack from a rogue attack so he and his father who is the principal at our school also moved to our pack from Gravewater Pack. Semaj P.O.V After my father announced at dinner his plans to send Ralph, Ricky, and myself to train Butterfly lashed out. While in the mall April and May were perusing the dresses when I heard my name being called. Just great it was the blond bimbos as Oliver and May called them. Faith walked up to us followed by her minions Bridget and Gene and proceeded to tell us how epic the night was going to be. We looked at the bimbos and began to laugh with as much enthusiasm as we could muster making them frown in disdain. After the show-down April and May found their dresses, I didn't feel right after our encounter and couldn't concentrate on anything. We still did our pampering at the spa after we grabbed lunch in the food court talking about any and everything. It started to get dark as we left the shopping mall April, May and Oliver were talking in the parking lot as I drifted back to the kiss I shared with Semaj. I came to with the snap of April's finger asking me what was my plan for a dress, when I told them not to worry. April and May dropped me back at the pack house with promises to see each other later. I smiled so hard I think I broke my face after regaining my senses I started getting ready. Semaj P.O.V I woke up today feeling like I committed the most heinous act of my life last night. I should have resisted Salina's advances but something wouldn't let me and now I feel regretful of my actions, I can't let this get out no matter what. Getting out of bed with a start I went on the search to find Salina with no luck I told myself I'll find her later. RAINA'S P.O.V When I finished getting ready I stood there looking in my floor-to-sealing mirror inside my closet staring at the beautiful dress from Semaj. It was a black body con fitted off-the-shoulder dress that reached mid-thigh with a white shear that split on both thighs reaching my the floor. The dress was so perfect I couldn't believe its beauty, I paired it with my white four-inch stilettos. I did my hair in soft curls that I pinned up so that my hair fell over my right shoulder accentuating my long neck. After finishing my makeup which was a soft look I added my candy apple red lipstick. After a few more minutes of fussing my phone rang showing Oli's face I answered. He asked me, are you not coming we've been here for an hour now, and still no Butterfly. I looked at the clock and it read 7 pm, s**t I'm coming I said into the phone as I rushed out of my room and down the stairs. Running to the back door I was stopped in the kitchen by Gene with a scowl on her face. She was there waiting on me to warn me to stay away from Oli and Semaj because they were out of my league and how I was a nobody. I brushed past her while saying I'm in a league all my own and it's not my fault men fall to their knees, laughing I left her with a scowl on her face. SALINA'S P.O.V While waiting for Gene to come back to my room I was discussing the changes I was going to make to the pack with Bridget and Faith. I asked her if she was out there and Gene just nodded her head, I told them it was showtime ladies' let us get this party started. I wore a red mini-dress that flared at my waist coupled with my black six-inch stilettos. I wore my hair straight with the right side pinned back with a red flower clip, and some dark red mat lipstick. I was ready to steal the show and Semaj's heart, so we exited my room and headed for the backyard with one goal in mind. Secure the dream. CHAPTER 5: BIRTHDAY PARTY SEMAJ'S P.O.V I got ready for my party wearing my white stone-washed jeans with a black button-down and the sleeves rolled to my elbows coupled with my white and black forces. After gelling my hair I let it fall forward on my forehead looking back at the dress on my bed I grabbed it and left my room. The dress and rose I got for Butterfly were in my hands smiling at the thought of seeing her in it tonight had me giddy. When I got to her room I knocked on her door with no answer. Opening her door and peeking in she was still gone so I let myself in left the dress and rose on her bed. I left a note asking for the first dance tonight signing my name I smiled and left her room. Leaving her room I was smiling and heading over to my dad's office when I knocked he answered "Come in" Opening the door my dad sat at his desk. I sat down in one of the chairs in front of him. He asked me what I owed this visit from the birthday boy, I didn't want to tell my father about Salina but I needed his permission to reject her. When I told my dad about what happened he told me I had to do it to protect myself and the pack from such a conniving person. We discussed other pack things when out of nowhere he asked me about Butterfly and why I looked at her with such longing. Blushing I turned my head to the window remembering the kiss we shared; he then asked me what if she isn't my second chance mate what will I do? I hadn't even thought about it until he brought it to my attention, "I'll love her anyway! " then he said what about her mate and I froze. The biggest fear of my life became a reality fast and my heart stopped for a moment. Fear was gripping my very soul when a voice in my head spoke and said, she will be ours don't worry! Startled out of my fear my wolf introduced himself hi, I'm Oryan your counterpart. Smiling I figured my wolf just made his appearance. My dad said congratulations son now go to your party and have fun, so I left his office in search of my friends. Finding them already in the back yard huddled around the refreshments table. She started her walk in my direction with me frozen on the spot I noticed she was giving my Butterfly an evil look. When she reached me I said her name grabbing her attention. Everyone outside gasped in shock at the revaluation, now accept my rejection I told her. She argued with me saying never you are mine she yelled but the pain in her chest kept her tone low. I turned to my father and he stepped forward saying in his alpha tone, "Accept the rejection now child" Gritting her teeth she tried to resist the order but couldn't.
