📖 The Girl Who Speaks Too Loud  Chapter 1: Words Like Wind Lila was the kind of girl everyone noticed. Growing up in the sun-warmed villages outside the city, she was bright, quick to laugh, and always had something to say. She dreamed of big cities and bright futures, but her attention was like a butterfly—here one moment, gone the next. She had a kind heart, but she was wild, easily led astray, and she loved to talk more than anything. Secrets never stayed with her long; words would tumble out before she could even think to hold them back. One evening, as the sky turned soft gold, her mother sat beside her. “Lila,” she said quietly, “what I tell you now must never be repeated. Your closest friend was adopted as a baby. Her parents have kept this to protect her. Do not speak of it to anyone.” Lila promised she would not. But by the next afternoon, sitting with her friends, the story slipped out light as air. It traveled fast, until it reached the very girl it was meant to guard. By sunset, her friend stood at their door, crying, asking if her whole life had been a lie. When her mother returned, she did not shout. She only looked at Lila with sad, disappointed eyes. “You have a good heart, but you have not learned to guard your words,” she said. “You will go stay with your grandmother in the city. Perhaps there you will learn that words can build, and words can break.”  Chapter 2: The Quiet House The city was loud and bright, nothing like home. Her grandmother lived in a neat, quiet house, a woman who valued order and care above all else. “Here,” Grandma told her gently, “we respect our words, and we respect each other.” But Lila was stubborn. She refused to change. She left things scattered, ignored chores, and snapped back with sharp words whenever she was corrected. She would storm to her room, proud and angry—even while her heart ached to say I am sorry. She just could not find the words. Grandma tried everything, but Lila stayed closed off. Hoping a fresh start would help, they moved to a quieter street. She never guessed this new home would turn Lila’s world upside down.  Chapter 3: The Boy Who Promised Forever Their new compound was simple: just them, the landlady, and five young men living nearby. Lila went about her days cold and distant—until she met Kai. Kai was charming, with a warm smile and a voice that felt like comfort. He listened to her, made her feel seen, and for the first time, Lila wanted to be better. She helped around the house, softened her tongue, and walked lighter, just to be worthy of him. “When you turn eighteen,” he promised, “we will be together properly. I will wait for you.” Lila held those words like treasure. She gave him everything—her trust, her time, and finally, her innocence. She truly believed it was the start of forever. But on her eighteenth birthday, Kai never came. Word spread fast: he had been seen walking through town, holding hands with another girl. The pain was sharp enough to steal her breath. Lila locked herself away, broken and hollow. Darkness pressed in around her, and for a while, she could not see a way out. But Grandma found her, held her close, and whispered, “You are worth more than this. Hold on.” Slowly, Lila stood again—but something inside her had hardened. She finished secondary school, and Grandma worked hard to send her to a college far away, hoping distance would help her heal.  Chapter 4: Walls Around a Fragile Heart Lila enrolled to study Mass Communication—a path that fit her quick mind and love of words perfectly. On campus, she built high walls around her heart. She was cold, sharp, and pushed every man away before they could get close. Rumors spread fast, but Lila did not care. It was easier to be tough than to be hurt again. Just as she had given up on love entirely, she met Victor. He was quiet, thoughtful, steady—everything Kai had pretended to be. Lila fell for him harder than she ever thought possible. She loved him with all the desperate heart of someone who had been broken too many times. But slowly, she saw the truth. He never called just to ask how she was. He never brought her small joys. When she was hurt, he stepped back and waited for her to fix herself. It was always Lila running back, always Lila giving more than she received. Until one day, she understood: he did not love her. He only loved that she loved him. And then, without a word, he left. Chapter 5: Learning to Speak Softly to Herself This time, Lila did not fall apart. She sat quietly in her room, and felt a heavy, clear truth settle over her. This is life, she thought. It breaks you until you learn to stand on your own.🖤I spoke too loud, I spoke too fast,
Gave my secrets to the wind at last.
Told every story I was asked to keep,
Let words run wild while I was fast asleep.
Chased the ones who turned and walked away,
Begged for them to stay another day.
Spoke of dreams I never got to hold,
Spoke of truths that turned to lies untold.
