CHAPTER 8In a cramped apartment, a lone man sat pensively in a darkened room, the only source of light coming from a television screen. The shades were drawn tightly against the outside world though he assured himself he felt no fear whatsoever. Nobody out there could hurt him. They didn’t even know who he was. But despite his self-assurances, he was nervously trembling. The television news (which seemed to always be on some channel or other, no matter what time of day or night) was still featuring breathless reports on the two shocking murders of the previous week.
