CHAPTER 9Frank had only seen him one time for just a few moments, but Emil looked as he remembered him from that brief encounter: lean but muscular, short dark hair, clean shaven, a fairly ordinary looking young man in dark shirt and jeans. Downright nondescript. He may have deliberately avoided any physical characteristics, like a beard or mustache, that would make him noticeable. He was leaving his apartment house, a low brick building on a narrow street in a neighborhood one would hardly describe as upscale. Frank had just parked his car across the street when he saw Emil coming out the doorway directly onto the sidewalk, turning to his right.
