* The New Moon festival always started on the first day of the year, and it was the most celebrated time of the year in the Greyhounds pack. It signified the start of something new, and breathed new life to the vale so the pack could flourish once more. Chief amongst the celebrations was the mating ritual, where all the cubs who had come of age would get to find their mates. It was the chance for new beginnings, and everyone looked forward to it eagerly. The first part of the ceremony would begin with the lighting of the three flames.
