Ice seemed to flow through Sierra’s veins as she froze at the sight of Oberon. Common sense told her to bolt towards the trees and make a run for it, but she couldn’t get any part of her body to move.
Oberon was the largest and fiercest wolf she had ever seen. All her life, Sierra had assumed that her father was the largest and most powerful wolf she had ever seen. But Oberon was taller and wider than he was. His paws looked so powerful as he towered over every other wolf, and his eyes glowed menacingly as he stared directly at her.
The world fell silent as everyone stopped moving, and they were all locked in their stances, with Oberon’s soldiers ready to attack. They were merely waiting for the order, their canines bared as they growled lowly at their targets.
