The first event would be a race over the mountain, over a five mile trail which mirrored closely the same path with Brandon and Sierra would take regularly. It was designed to bring them right to the edge of exhaustion, where they could feel as though they had reached the end of their abilities. And then, they would have to push some more.
“It’s a simple task,” Alpha Clark said as they all gathered at the start of the trail. “You don’t even have to come in first. Your position doesn’t matter at all. What matters is finishing the trail, and working together as a team to make it back.”
