Job Interview
POV Samantha I adjusted the collar of my white blouse, trying to calm my nerves as I looked at my reflection in the elevator mirror. Today was the day of the test for the personal secretary position at Hunter Enterprises, one of the most prestigious companies in the city. My resume was impeccable, and I had prepared exhaustively for this opportunity. However, I couldn't shake the fear of failing, as this was my third interview that month after two rejections. When the elevator opened on the 45th floor, I was greeted by an imposing lobby, decorated with marble and glass. I introduced myself at the reception, where a friendly young woman checked my name on the list of candidates. "Good morning, Miss Pierce. Please follow that corridor to the interview room. Mr. Collins will be with you shortly," said the receptionist with a smile. I took a deep breath and walked down the corridor, my steps echoing on the marble floor. When I reached the interview room, I was greeted by Nathan Collins, a charming man with an easy smile, who invited me to sit. "Miss Pierce, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Nathan Collins, responsible for the first stage of the selection process. Shall we begin?" he said, gesturing for me to sit in a comfortable leather chair. The interview began traditionally, with questions about my professional experience, skills, and ambitions. I answered confidently, feeling increasingly at ease. Nathan seemed impressed with my responses and took notes attentively. "You have an impressive resume, Samantha. Now, I'd like to know more about how you handle high-pressure situations. Let's do a practical exercise," Nathan said, handing me a set of documents. I quickly analyzed the documents, which simulated a corporate crisis involving an important client. I presented my solutions clearly and firmly, demonstrating my ability to think quickly under pressure. Nathan smiled, satisfied with my performance. "Very well, Samantha. You demonstrated excellent management and problem-solving skills. The next stage will be an interview with Mr. Hunter. He will be available in a few minutes." While waiting, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of anxiety. I had heard a lot about Jonathan Hunter, a man known for his demands and rigor. When he finally entered the room, I was surprised to see the physical resemblance between him and Nathan. However, there was something in Jonathan's gaze that was intensely different, almost intimidating. Jonathan sat across from me, adjusting his glasses with precision. He was sexy, and his muscles almost bulged out of his suit. I adjusted myself in the chair, trying to concentrate. "Miss Pierce, I'm impressed with your performance so far. Let's get straight to the point. What do you believe you can bring to our company that no one else can?" Jonathan asked, his penetrating eyes fixed on mine. I took a deep breath, feeling the pressure of Jonathan's gaze. I knew this was my chance to show my true value. "Mr. Hunter, I believe my combination of analytical skills and my ability to quickly adapt to challenging situations are my greatest assets. I am committed to bringing innovation and efficiency to Hunter Enterprises, and I believe I can significantly contribute to the company's growth," I replied, my voice firm and confident. Jonathan remained silent for a moment, evaluating every word I had said. Finally, he nodded. "Very well, Miss Pierce. I see potential in you. Let's proceed to the final stage of the interview," he said, standing up and extending his hand to me, his eyes fixed on my body. As we shook hands, I felt a current of electricity pass between us, something I couldn't explain. "Please, follow me to my office for the final part of the interview," he said, still holding my hand a second longer than necessary. Jonathan's office was even more impressive than I had imagined, with huge windows offering a panoramic view of the city and dark wood furniture that exuded power and sophistication. He indicated a chair in front of his desk and sat behind it, watching me intently. "Miss Pierce, what I'm about to ask now isn't in traditional interview books, but it's crucial for our work environment," he said, crossing his arms and leaning slightly forward. "How do you feel about absolute loyalty and discretion?" "I believe loyalty and discretion are essential in any work environment, especially in a company of Hunter Enterprises' caliber. I am fully committed to maintaining confidentiality and being loyal to the company's interests," I replied, feeling a wave of determination. Jonathan smiled slightly, but his eyes remained serious. "Excellent. Now, let's move to a hypothetical situation. Imagine you discover compromising information about a colleague that could negatively affect the company. How would you act?" I thought for a moment before responding, carefully choosing my words. "First, I would verify the accuracy of the information. Then, I would report directly to a superior, ensuring the situation was handled confidentially and professionally. The integrity of the company must always come first," I responded. Jonathan nodded, seeming satisfied with my answer. "Good. Now, Miss Pierce, is there anything else I need to know about you? Something that might not be on your resume?" I hesitated for a moment, not knowing exactly what he was looking for. But then, I decided to be honest. "I am very dedicated and work well under pressure. Additionally, I am always willing to learn and adapt to new situations. I think that sums up who I am professionally." Jonathan leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving mine. "Miss Pierce, you seem to be exactly the type of person we're looking for. However, you need to understand that working directly with me requires a level of commitment and discretion beyond the ordinary. Are you prepared for that?" I felt a chill down my spine, but I couldn't let that intimidate me. "Yes, Mr. Hunter. I am prepared." He smiled for the first time since entering the room. "Very well. Consider yourself hired." He stood up, and so did I, shaking his hand again. "Tomorrow at nine. Don't be late." I left the office feeling a mix of relief and excitement. I had done it! This was my big chance, and I wasn't going to waste it. However, as I headed to the elevator, I couldn't help but think about Jonathan's intense gaze and the electric current I had felt when shaking his hand. Something told me this new position would be more challenging than I could ever imagine. When I reached the ground floor, my phone buzzed with a message. It was from an unknown number. I opened the message, curious. "Welcome to Hunter Enterprises, Samantha. You have no idea what's coming. — JH" My heart raced. Who could it be? And what exactly did he mean by that? I was about to discover that this job would be much more than I had anticipated.
