RUN AWAY
For the first time since Rhea got married to Raymond, she is able to go pass the gate without being in his car and forced by him to dress up and stand beside him like a doll.
She look back to see if she is being followed but it is silence and darkness of the night that hit her. She put her shoes down and wear them to continue her journey.
Even though she has no idea where exactly she is going to, she know that she need to get away from him, anywhere else will be a blessing.
Raymond walk up with a sullen mood the next morning and notice that Rhea isn’t in the place where he had tied her down.
His head start to get hot again and he rush downstairs to find her, he open the door to her room and it is empty.
Getting really rile up, he walk to the kitchen where the maids are preparing breakfast and they all panic seeing him there
“Where is my dog?” he yelled and they all shake their head in tremble and fear.
Raymond grab one of the maid and ask for Rhea again but they all shake their heads profusely claiming they don’t know.
“What!”
He yell at them to search all the house at once to find her and they all scurry like scare mice. He exhale sharply and go back upstairs to search for her again.
After searching for hours, there is still no trace of her in the house and Raymond feel his level of anger rising to a dangerous ground.
He feel like strangling the useless maids for letting someone as frail as Rhea get away from their eyes and quickly call Ben his assistant to find her.
It seem to him that his scared fragile dog has finally think of running away after many years, but she should know better than to infuriate him.
Knowing that she has no one, it will be difficult for her to run far and he will soon be able to catch her back just like five years ago when he trickily married her.
Rhea stop at a convenience store to have something to eat after walking for the past three hours with no rest.
Due to her injuries and bruises, she is slow down in her escape but she did not stop wanting to get far away as possible.
However her grumbling stomach also serve as a hindrance and she could no go on without having a sip of water and a peanut.
She has been starved for two days and her body can not take it any longer, she might end up dead if she continue.
Rhea watch different people go in and out of the store with out courage to walk up to them and ask for just a cent.
She just pray that one of the customer wishes to eat his snacks at the table so she will be able to grab whatever leftover there might be.
Without realizing how much time has gone, Rhea waited and fall asleep for a short while. When she open her eyes, there is a little water left in a bottle and a half eaten hot-dog.
She quickly grab it throwing it into her mouth like a hungry wolf and almost choke on it, she pour the water down her throat and feel life coming slowly back.
Satisfied with the food, she get up to continue her journey and barely walk few feet when she notice a car roughly pull behind her.
Rhea turn swiftly around in a panic and catch Ben getting out of the car with few men in black jackets.
She did not wait a second before scurrying off without looking back, the men start to chase after her and she try to find some place to hide away from them.
Fortunately, she find a garbage dump and shove herself right into it covering her body up and with heated breathes she hear them run past the garbage.
When Rhea is sure that they have all left, she throw the dirt off her body and make away to the opposition direction.
She get back on the street looking really bad and smelly that it make her a center of attraction as the people walking by stares and sneer at her.
Rhea take a look around to figure where next to go, Raymond is probably going insane and has sent his personal assistant to get her back.
If she is ever caught by Raymond, it would be her death. He will burn her alive and mix her ashes with sand. Or pour it in a dirty river.
She try to hide in the crowd as she walks but they keep moving away from her and she hurry to cross the road.
Just as she stepped on the road to cross, Ben pull out of a corner in a dangerous swift and drive towards her.
Rhea scream out as she try to avoid getting hit and fall to the road side. She scar her palm and look up to see Ben coming out of the car.
She quickly get up and rush blindly to the road to get away, unfortunately, the light has change to green and the car driving up knock her off before it could stop.
Rhea see herself getting lift up into the air and it feel like she is floating but then in the same flash as she has fly, she is sent back to the ground and smash her body on the windscreen of the car.
It bounce her back to the road and her body roll a distance away before she come to a stop. Blood rush to her mouth and she find herself coughing it out lazily unable to move any limbs.
She fight not to close her eyes but her brain is getting dizzy and the last thing she see is Raymond staring at her from the car distance.
Rhea’s memory flash back to the day she got married to Raymond, the beginning of her hell.
She had just finished from business school when her father’s company had hit a bottom rock and needed urgent saving.
Her parents has announce her marriage like it was their gift for graduation and when she refused, they snap at her and in outburst told her she is adopted.
If she want to repay their kindness of twenty two years, she needed to get married to Raymond in order to save them and so she did.
The incident that happened that day still shake her to her bone marrow and even as she dream of it, she could feel the pain just like it was happening to her all over again.
Just as she watch her parents turn their back on her again as Raymond strangled her on the altar, Rhea flip up and open her eyes.
