KNOCKING ON DEVIL'S DOOR

MISERY The plates fall to the ground and Rhea clamour as she try to avoid getting hit by any of it, when the plates stop falling, she remove her hands that are serving as a protective shield over her face and stare teary at the man that is supposedly her husband. He has just attempt to hurt her again without caring if she actually dies. Real excruciating tears fall of Rhea’s eyes at the misery she has suffered in the hands of the monster-like man. “Clean it up” he thundered not minding that she has no shoes on and the broken plates would definitely injure her if she make a move now. Rhea wait hoping he would walk out after letting out his anger on her but he stands there and wait for her to do as he instruct. She sniff up her tears not sure how to start without getting hurt. When he see that she is not ready to make a move to clean it up, he walk to her and grab her neck. He thrust her down on the broken pieces and she fall on her side as she try to avoid hurting her face. It isn’t because she care so much about her looks but the last time she had hurt her face during one of his frenzy, she was punished for it. Even though he is a monster at home, he prefer to be a good man outside and show her off as his wife when necessary. “Are you trying to defile me now? You should know it’s life worst than death when you dare to disobey me” he reminded. Rhea quickly stand up on her kneels biting her teeth at her pain and begin to park the plates quickly, even with her fingers getting cut by it, she did not stop and pack it all up in a tray. “I’m sorry” she apologized her tears falling uncontrollably. Raymond grab her jaw and push her face up to see her tears, the scene bring smiles to his face and he kiss it before letting go and walking out of the dinning area. With much pain, Rhea take the tray back to the kitchen and manage to keep it on the cabinet before falling to the floor and look to see herself bleeding. She sight the maids all standing at a distance away and know that none of them would render help. She can not blame them, they would be in grave danger if they dared to talk to her or do as much as help her treat her wound. After managing to endure the pain, she force her feet to go to her room which is just beside the maids’ room and bring out a box of first aid to help herself. For five years, she has been married to Raymond Williams and suffered great torture and affliction in his hands. It must have been her bad luck that she hasn’t died yet but keep surviving to receive more pain and maltreatment from him. It was a forced marriage between them and she hasn’t expected to enjoy it but neither has she thought she would be living in the highest level of hell on earth. She lost her life the day she got married to Raymond. Not only was she tricked into marrying him but her family who she thought loved her so much informed her that she was adopted and made her marry a monster to save their own heads. They didn’t even care when he choked her on the altar and neither did they turn their eyes to her when she was left all alone in her wedding dress. Before this dreadful marriage, she has always thought that her life would be a bed of roses but she has had to sleep on thorns for three years. Nothing she ever do satisfies or pleases her husband, he just enjoy giving her pain and watching her misery. After the battering every single day, he would drag her to his room at nights whenever he feel like and have his way with her until he is satisfied. Not even her cry and wailing could save her, he seem to enjoy it though and since Rhea learn that her wail only ignite his strength whenever he tortures her, she has force herself to always endure it and keep silent. But there are just sometimes she could not hold it in and let it out like a pathetic fool. After she manage to clean her wounds, she take some pain reliever and lie down to get few minutes of rest before he start looking for her less she end up with more bruises. She hasn’t close her eyes for two minutes when the door open and one of the maids come in “He wants you” she whispered Rhea jump on her feet and let out a cry as her fresh wound hit her, she get her slippers on and went upstairs to find him immediately. She knock on the door of his study and his hoarse voice ask her to come in after some minutes, Rhea step into the room and notice a maid is already there holding a teapot. “strip” he said and light up his cigarette. Rhea’s eyes dash to the maid standing with her head bow down and nod her head before moving in front of him and begin to take off her clothes. “Be fast about it” he snapped angrily and she hurry to remove the last piece of clothing. His eyes feast on her body on his seat and he draws in the smoke like he is enjoying every bit of it. Rhea try to cover her naked body with her hands but she pick being stare at like this than having him touching and groping her body aggressively so she stand breathlessly and wait. In just few hours it would be over and she can take a rest from the day’s misery until tomorrow. One of her lucky days are when Raymond go on business trips and spend days or even weeks, she does not have to see his monstrous face and she get to enjoy herself in every possible way she can until he comes back. She sit down for a good dine and has merely have two spoons of the tasty meat when the entrance door slam open and his footstep heavily fill the house. Rhea quickly get up to receive him and just as he near her, she bow her head but he grab her hair instead and yank it along with him dragging her through the stairs. He pull her from the floor and slam her on the bed while her body bounce on it and she feel a bad pain in her spinal cord. He get on top of her and Rhea could guess that whatever he had gone for did not end up well. The clothes on her rip before she know it and she bite her lips to suppress any cry but a slap go across her face instead making her lips bleed a cut. He is not going to have s*x with her but rather beat her until he is able to let out all his anger.
