Scene: Hriday’s Office – Morning Rupsa slowly walks into the boss’s cabin. There’s a slight hesitation in her throat, but her face shows clear determination. Hriday is sitting at the desk, flipping through some files. He looks up. Hriday (cold voice): "Yes?" Rupsa (firmly): "I agree." Hriday (raising an eyebrow): "Excuse me?" Rupsa: "What you said yesterday… marriage for six months… I agree." Hriday (eyes widen): "...Seriously?" Rupsa nods, no trace of doubt on her face. Rupsa: "Just one condition — I want everything in writing. Contract, terms, payment. Everything must be on paper." Hriday (surprised): "...Interesting. I didn’t expect you to say yes." Rupsa (cold tone): "It feels good to surprise people like you." A faint, tense smile appears on Hriday’s lips. Hriday: "Fine. Let’s make this official then." Rupsa turns and walks out. Hriday watches her back, a mysterious glint in his eyes. --- Scene: Hriday’s Office – Right after Rupsa leaves Hriday leans back in his chair, a faint mysterious smile playing on his lips. Just then, Shiv barges in. Shiv (excited tone): "Good morning, sir! Rupsa ma’am was here, right? What did she say?" Hriday (calmly): "She said yes." Shiv (eyes go wide): "What?! Rupsa ma’am actually agreed? Seriously?" Hriday: "Yes. Contract marriage. Six months. She asked for everything in writing. Professional enough, I’d say." Shiv (in disbelief): "I mean…! I thought you were joking… She practically faints at the sound of your name!" Hriday (faint smirk): "Apparently, life surprises us both, Shiv." Shiv: "So… what do we do now?" Hriday (serious tone): "Make the contract. Today. Full legal terms. And yes, make sure my mother doesn’t find any fault with it." Shiv (scratching his head): "Uff… convincing ma’am is the real challenge!" Hriday (coldly): "That’s your problem now, Shiv." Shiv makes a face and leaves the cabin, muttering under his breath: Shiv (muttering): "Boss throws one bomb after another on me… This marriage might just turn into the biggest explosion in this office!" Scene: Rupsa’s House – Night Rupsa sits quietly on the bed. Her mother, after taking medicine before sleep, looks at her and says: Mother (softly): “Rupsa, you look very worried these days… will you tell me something?” Rupsa smiles faintly and sits beside her mother. There’s a hidden pain in her voice. Rupsa (after a pause): “Ma… I’ve made a decision. I’m going to get married.” Mother (startled): “Married?! So suddenly? Who’s the boy?” Rupsa lowers her eyes, her throat tightens. But she steadies herself and says: Rupsa: “My boss… Hriday Roy. I love him, Ma.” Her mother is shocked, silent for a moment, then slowly smiles. Mother (gently smiling): “You love him? Then my blessings are with you. I never stand in the way of love.” Tears well up in Rupsa’s eyes. She rests her head on her mother’s shoulder. Rupsa (softly): “As long as you’re okay, Ma, I can handle everything.” Mother (stroking her hair): “I trust you, my child… everything will be fine.” Rupsa, in her mind: “Ma… you don’t know the truth… this love is a lie, but for your health’s sake, this lie is my truth now.” --- Scene: Morning – Rupsa’s Room Rupsa is preparing breakfast for her mother. Suddenly her phone rings. On the screen—Shiv Sir. Rupsa (startled): “This early? Why is he calling?” She answers the call hesitantly. Rupsa: “Hello?” Shiv (in a hurried tone): “Good morning, Rupsa. Boss asked you to come to the office early today. Come to the Count Section—by 9. For signing the contract.” Rupsa (serious): “Today?” Shiv (slightly annoyed): “Yes, today. Hriday Sir’s time is expensive. And you’ve already agreed, haven’t you?” Rupsa (coldly): “Alright, I’ll come.” Shiv: “And Rupsa… be prepared. This isn’t a joke anymore.” Rupsa: “I know.” --- Scene: Morning – Rupsa’s Room Rupsa stands before the mirror. She’s wearing a soft pink sari, with very light makeup—lip balm on her lips, a hint of kohl in her eyes. In her mind: “Today is just one signature… but that signature will change my life.” She picks up her old bag from the wardrobe. Enters her mother’s room and looks at her quietly. Rupsa (in her mind): “Ma, everything I’m doing is for you… I just want you to stay well.” She silently leaves the house. --- Scene: Office Building – 8:55 AM Rupsa enters through the door. Receptionist Rina looks up in surprise. Rina (smiling): “This early? What’s the matter!” Rupsa (smiling faintly): “An urgent meeting.” She looks up and sees Shiv waiting at the elevator. Shiv (seriously): “Come, Boss is waiting only for you.” --- Scene: Count Section – Beside Hriday’s Cabin A contract paper lies before Rupsa. Hriday stands by the window, his face unreadable. Shiv (softly): “All points are already clear—6 months, personal life stays private, only act as husband and wife before the family. Money will be deposited in your account monthly.” Rupsa lowers her head, picks up the pen. Just then Hriday turns and looks at her. His eyes—cold yet deep. He says quietly: Hriday: “Once you sign, there’s no turning back.” Rupsa: “I never planned to turn back anyway.” The sound of pen on paper—signing. The room falls silent. Rupsa stands in a corner, neither excited nor afraid—just tense. Soon Shiv enters with a 19-year-old office boy, carrying garlands and a vermilion box. Shiv (coldly): “Everything’s ready.” The boy silently offers the items. Boss first puts the garland around Rupsa’s neck. Rupsa glances briefly at his face, then slowly puts the garland on him. Shiv extends the vermilion box towards Rupsa. Shiv: “He won’t do it. Finish it yourself.” Rupsa stands still for a moment. Then slowly takes the box, goes to the mirror, and applies vermilion in her hair parting—herself. Her face shows no emotion. Shiv lifts his phone. Shiv (quietly): “Pictures are necessary. Boss said so.” Click… click… Their photos are taken—no smiles, no celebration. Just a contract fulfilled. Shiv (lowering his eyes): “That’s it. According to the contract, you’re now husband and wife.” Rupsa looks at herself in the mirror—red vermilion in her hair, but her eyes are filled with emptiness. After Rupsa leaves, the cabin remains silent. Shiv stands beside Boss, holding the phone. Boss (without looking up): “Show me the pictures.” Shiv hands them over. Boss studies them closely—Rupsa’s face shows no joy, yet there’s strength in it. Boss (softly): “Send this to my grandfather.” Shiv (shocked): “Grandfather? But you never—” Boss (firmly, with a faint smile): “He knows everything. Now he should also see my wife’s face.” Shiv smiles faintly. Shiv: “Alright, Boss. I’ll send it right away.” He forwards the picture to grandfather. --- Hriday’s Grandfather’s House – Grandfather’s Room Morning. Hriday’s grandfather, an 80-year-old dignified but stern man, sits quietly in his favorite chair, wearing glasses. Dev hands him the phone. Dev (softly): “Grandfather, you had said when he marries, I must tell you first. So…” Grandfather (frowning): “What now? Why are you showing me a picture?” Dev shows the screen—Hriday and Rupsa’s wedding pictures, vermilion, garlands, the captured moment. Grandfather freezes for a moment. His face stern. Grandfather (quietly): “This… is real?” Dev (smiling slightly): “Yes, Grandfather. Not registered, but done willingly.” Grandfather looks down at the photo again. Rupsa has no smile, but courage in her eyes. Hriday, with his familiar indifference, stands beside her. Grandfather (with a deep sigh): “Hriday, Hriday… finally you accepted someone. I thought no one would ever come into your life.” He pulls the phone close to his chest. Grandfather (gently smiling): “This girl seems right. I can feel she’ll handle our family well.” Dev: “Shall I tell them you want to meet?” Grandfather (seriously): “No, let them manage first. Then I’ll call. But yes, tell them my blessings are with them.” Dev nods and leaves. Grandfather looks at the photo again and smiles peacefully. --- Outside Grandfather’s Room Dev sighs deeply, takes out his phone, and calls Hriday. Hriday (on the other end, in a serious tone): “Yes Shiv, is Grandfather calling me?” Dev (smiling faintly): “No, Boss… I mean Hriday, he didn’t say that.” Hriday (frowning): “Then? Does he not believe it?” Dev (worried tone): “Doesn’t seem so. He just looked at the picture silently. I told him it’s not registered, but the marriage is done… still he said nothing.” Hriday (coldly): “Hm. The day he believes, he’ll call me himself.” Dev (softly): “Maybe he still thinks you’re joking. You’ve always been like that…” Hriday (cold smile): “Maybe. But this time, it’s not a joke, Shiv. This marriage is a necessary transaction.” Dev (smiling on the other end): “Still, no one but Rupsa could’ve done this. You chose the right girl.” Hriday (after a pause): “…I didn’t choose anyone. I only needed someone who could manage Grandfather, family, and business. That’s all.” Dev (smiling): “Alright, Boss. As you say. But today I saw a change in your eyes.” The call ends. --- Inside the Car – Hriday & Rupsa The car is luxurious, but the atmosphere heavy. Rupsa looks out the window. Then turns to Hriday. Rupsa (softly): “Where are we going?” Hriday (without looking at her, coldly): “To my family house.” Rupsa (frowning): “You mean your grandfather… does he live there?” Hriday (slight smile): “No. Grandfather mostly stays at the village estate. This is our city residence, not the permanent home.” Rupsa (a bit relieved, curious): “Then who’s there now?” Hriday: “My elder uncle and his family. I visit sometimes… and today, I’m taking you there for the first time because… my family must know I’m married.” Rupsa (silent for a moment, then softly): “Your family doesn’t know it’s a contract?” Hriday (deeply): “They don’t need to know. As long as you’re here, you’re my wife. The success of this contract depends on how well you act.” Rupsa (biting her lip): “Alright. I’ll act. Just make sure my mother’s treatment continues.” Hriday (glancing at her, slowly): “Her treatment has already started. For the rest, you just have to be this family’s ‘daughter-in-law.’” The car stops outside a large gate. The guard looks shocked— Guard (wide-eyed): “This car… it’s Hriday Sir’s! He hasn’t come in so long…” The guard opens the gate quickly. Inside, a servant opens the door after hearing the bell. The moment the servant sees them, his eyes widen—Hriday Sir beside a beautiful woman, dressed in sari, with a red bindi… and vermilion in her hair! Servant (stammering): “Sir?! You…! You mean… you got married?!” Hriday (seriously): “Yes. This is Rupsa. My wife.” Servant (stepping back, astonished): “I can’t believe this, Sir… never thought I’d see you like this…” Rupsa (politely bowing): “Namaste.” Hriday: “Grandfather isn’t here, so we’ll go upstairs. No need to tell anyone else.” Servant (nodding quickly): “Yes, Sir! I’ll arrange everything.” Rupsa and Hriday step inside together. The servant whispers something over the phone— And soon the news spreads through the house— 👉 “Hriday Sir has returned married!”
