episode: " always late"
Scene 1
[Location: A renowned corporate office in Kolkata – “Roy Industries.” Time: 10:45 AM]
(The elevator door opens. A slim young woman rushes out, breathless. An office ID card hangs around her neck, she clutches a file, her face shows panic — this is Rupsa.)
Rupsa (to herself):
“Of all days, I had to be late today… and of course, Bose is in the office! My luck is rotten.”
(She fixes her hair, takes a deep breath, and pushes the door into her department. The room is stiff and silent. Everyone’s eyes turn toward her. Some exchange looks, some smirk.)
(A cold, stern voice suddenly cuts the silence from behind.)
Zhodoy Roy (CEO, sharply):
“Miss Sen, office starts at 10. Do you need a special invitation to know that?”
(Rupsa startles and turns. Zhodoy Roy, CEO of Roy Industries, sits in the glass cabin, his face grim, eyes filled with icy disdain. In a suit, idly turning his watch on his wrist.)
Rupsa (stammering):
“I… I’m sorry, sir… the bus was late…”
Zhodoy (with a cold smile):
“Late bus or late alarm — I know the difference, Miss Sen. Let me remind you — Roy Industries is not a kindergarten, and you’re not a child. If this happens again, don’t bother asking for leave — bring your resignation letter instead. Clear?”
(Rupsa’s throat dries. She lowers her head, trembling hands placing her file on her desk. A pen slips to the floor. No one speaks.)
Rupsa (inwardly):
“So this is my boss? The one they call The Ruthless Roy? People say he’s not human, just a statue of ice. Today, he almost swallowed me whole… How much more can I take?”
[Scene ends with Zhodoy’s eyes lingering on Rupsa for a brief second. His face stays stern, but there’s a flicker of curiosity in his gaze.]

Scene 2
[Location: Office floor, Rupsa’s desk]
(Rupsa sits quietly, still shaken. Her head low, lips pressed tight. Beside her sits Piyasa — glasses, sweet face, always cheerful.)
Piyasa (leaning in, whispering):
“Can’t you still hear the ringing in your ears? Boss just roasted you alive!”
Rupsa (still staring down, softly):
“I just stood there quietly… thought he’d stop at some point…”
(A pause. Then suddenly Rupsa stands, arms on her waist, voice dripping with mock arrogance. She mimics Zhodoy’s tone.)
Rupsa (imitating Zhodoy):
“Miss Sen, is Roy Industries your grandfather’s company that you waltz in whenever you like? We maintain discipline here! With your attitude, it feels like you’re the CEO, and I’m the security guard!”
(Piyasa stares blankly for a moment — then bursts into laughter, almost falling off her chair!)
Piyasa (laughing hard):
“Oh my god! If Boss had heard that, not only would you lose your job, he’d probably marry you just to torture you forever!”
(Rupsa freezes, then laughs too, waving it off.)
Rupsa (frowning):
“Ugh! Marry him?? That cold-blooded, arrogant robot? I’d rather die!”
Piyasa (smirking, eyes twinkling):
“Hmm… robot, yes. But did you notice? His eyes lingered on you a bit too long… maybe the Love Virus is already in!”
(Rupsa’s eyes widen. She drops her head onto the desk.)
Rupsa:
“Shut up, Piyasa. One day, I’ll teach this boss a lesson… what it means to be Rupsa Sen!”
[Inside the glass cabin, Zhodoy sips coffee. For a fleeting moment, his hand pauses, cup frozen at his lips, as his gaze flicks toward Rupsa.]

Scene 3
[Location: Zhodoy’s cabin, noon]
(The glass door opens. A handsome, slightly hot-tempered young man walks in briskly — Shiv, Zhodoy’s friend. Rupsa and Piyasa watch curiously from outside. Shiv closes the door behind him.)
Shiv (straightforwardly):
“What you said this morning… I still can’t wrap my head around it. Are you serious about this? You really want to get married?”
Zhodoy (leaning back, calm):
“Yes. I will marry.”
Shiv (shocked):
“Seriously? Why, all of a sudden?”
Zhodoy (coldly):
“I want a contractual marriage. Six months only. That’s it. No strings attached.”
Shiv (laughing):
“A contract marriage?! What kind of drama is this?”
Zhodoy (a faint, crooked smile):
“No drama. A necessity. I need someone I can trust for six months. Someone who won’t create problems.”
(Outside, Rupsa can’t hear the words, but Shiv’s animated gestures spark her curiosity. She leans slightly, Piyasa whispers in her ear.)
Piyasa (whispering):
“What do you think, Rupsa? Who’s the bride-to-be for six months?”
Rupsa (rolling her eyes):
“I don’t know… and I don’t want to. Just listening to that robot’s plans gives me a headache.”
(Just then, the cabin door opens. Shiv steps out with a mysterious smile. Inside, Zhodoy sits at his desk, his cold eyes flicking briefly toward Rupsa.)

Scene 4
[Location: Zhodoy’s cabin, later]
Shiv (settling into a chair, surprised):
“You’re seriously talking about a six-month marriage? You sound so calm… like you’re ordering coffee!”
Zhodoy (closing a file):
“I do everything systematically. My family is pressuring me for certain reasons. This is a logical solution. No emotions involved.”
Shiv:
“So, who’s the lucky candidate you’ve thought of?”
Zhodoy (after a pause):
“Piyasa. She’s smart, composed… won’t create drama.”
(Shiv bursts out laughing.)
Shiv (mocking):
“Piyasa? Bro, she’s your employee, not your babysitter. And in your family, just being smart isn’t enough. You need someone who can handle the whole package.”
(Zhodoy frowns slightly.)
Zhodoy:
“Then you tell me. Who has that kind of courage — to handle both me and my family?”
(Shiv smirks, glancing toward the glass window, where Rupsa is walking past with a file.)
Shiv (narrowing his eyes):
“Rupsa.”
Zhodoy (scowling):
“Rupsa?! That irritating, copy-cat girl?”
Shiv:
“Not irritating — adaptable. She reacts, yes… but then she imitates you exactly. That means she can survive your world.”
(Zhodoy falls silent, then a faint, icy smile creeps onto his lips.)
Zhodoy:
“…Interesting.”

Scene 5
[Location: Office floor – Rupsa & Piyasa at their desks]
(Rupsa is absentmindedly twirling her pen. Piyasa nudges her.)
Piyasa (nudging):
“Tell me, how come Shiv sir appeared out of nowhere today?”
Rupsa (raising her brows):
“And not just appeared — he walked straight into Boss’s cabin without even a hello-hi! That’s not normal.”
Piyasa (hands on cheeks, dramatic):
“Uff… when Boss switches to robot mode, we get scared. Now imagine — two robots in one meeting!”
Rupsa (with a crooked smile):
“Seriously, what was so urgent this morning that Shiv sir had to come in person? A phone call wasn’t enough?”
Piyasa (dramatically, lowering her voice):
“Feels like some secret mission… maybe Boss is marrying a spy!”
(Rupsa bursts out laughing, shaking her head.)
Rupsa (narrowing her eyes):
“If that robot ever gets married, I pity the bride. How will she survive?”
(They laugh, but Rupsa keeps glancing toward the cabin, curiosity flickering in her eyes. Just then, the cabin door opens. Shiv steps out, smiling mysteriously. Rupsa and Piyasa exchange wide-eyed looks.)
Piyasa (whispering):
“Rupsa… something’s definitely going on.”
Rupsa (eyes widening):
“And whatever that is… it might crash right into our lives too.”

Scene 6
[Office – Evening, everyone is packing up. Rupsa is preparing to leave]
(Rupsa is tidying up her desk, glances at the clock, and mutters)
Rupsa (to herself):
“Uff… today was fire. Finally, I can go home and sleep in peace…”
(Piyasa walks up, teasing)
Piyasa:
“Heading out? Lucky… at least no scolding today!”
(From behind, the receptionist calls out)
Receptionist (off-screen):
“Rupsa, Boss is calling you to his cabin.”
(Rupsa freezes. Piyasa’s eyes widen)
Rupsa:
“What?! Now?! I thought today I was safe!”
Piyasa (winking):
“Maybe he’s going to praise you!”
Rupsa (rolling her eyes):
“Yeah right… maybe he’ll say, ‘Today you worked 97% like me. Try for 100% next time.’”
(They laugh. Rupsa reluctantly walks toward Zhodoy’s cabin, pushes the door open.)
---
[Zhodoy’s cabin, dim lights. He’s staring out the window quietly.]
Rupsa (hesitant):
“Sir… you called me?”
(Zhodoy slowly turns, looks at her intently for a few seconds.)
Zhodoy (coldly):
“I have a question for you, Rupsa.”
Rupsa (startled):
“Yes, sir?”
Zhodoy (stepping closer):
“Suppose someone proposes a six-month marriage — purely contractual, no personal strings. What would you do?”
(Rupsa’s eyes widen, jaw drops. Silence. Her voice trembles.)
Rupsa (slowly):
“Sorry, sir? Is this… some kind of prank?”
Zhodoy (with a faint, cold smile):
“I don’t have time for pranks. Answer me.”
(Rupsa stands frozen, stunned. The curtains sway in the night breeze. The office is quiet. A sliver of light through the curtain glints in her eyes.)
