Prologue
Finally the day at the office had ended. It was my last day here before the big move and I was off to better things. I was gonna further my education to become the CEO of my own company, maybe that way nobody would think twice about laying a hand on me. I think back to my abusive ex, he abused me in every way possible....to think I almost married him.
Lost in my thoughts, I wandered to the park and sat under a tree. I would really miss this place when I move, but is was for the best. I didn't have any friends here, and my family acted like I didn't exist. Hopefully I'll get a fresh new start! I grin at myself when a shadow casted over me. Glancing up I see a old man smiling down at me.
"What's a girl like you sitting alone out here up to?" he asked, genuinely curious.
I knew I should have sent him off, but I wanted to know what he was up too, besides he seemed like a sweet old man. "Honestly, I was just relaxing until you showed up. Who are you?" I tried to be nice, but it came off more rudely than intended. The man laughed, unfazed, and sat down beside me, causing me to raise an eyebrow and go into defensive mode. Who the hell did he think he was?
"You seem like a girl full of spirit! Now to answer your question, my name is Gabe, and I wanna offer you the deal of a lifetime," he smiles at me.
"OH? Well Gabe, unfortunately I'm not interested, I already- " he cut me off.
"You are going to move to New York, and go to college to become a CEO....I know, you see I got you into the college, but I wanted to see if you were willing to speed the process a bit?" he watched me. I couldn't help myself, I showed my excitement too quick. Bypass college even just a little? That was right up my alley! I hated school, it was just a necessity at the moment.
"What would you want me to do, that's not something that just happens ya know. " I wanted to play it safe, I mean yeah the deal seemed too good to be true. Everything has a price.
He smirked "I see you aren't the trusting one, let's just say I want to see your dream come true. I can make that happen, all I ask is that you work for me for a month. After if you still want, I can make your dream a reality." he handed me a card and then stood up. "Call me before tomorrow if we have a deal Miss Jones. I'll wait until midnight." he smiles at me before walking away
I examine the card and pull out my phone to do research. What an odd little man I think to myself. Much to my suprise, all of my researching came to one conclusion. This guy was the real deal, he's known as the miracle maker. Why me though? The more I looked at the pictures on his website, the more I felt like I knew him. There was just something about this man that was familiar, but I had no one to ask, my paperwork in the orphanage had no information on me at all.
Hours had passed as I passed around my apartment. I didn't know if I should take him up on his offer or not, but I only had til Midnight, which was two hours away. Groaning and stare at the card and finally dial the number. I hope this is going to be the right decision.
